"I work doing business licensing for a nation-wide corporation. I emailed this office on March 5th asking if the license for one of our clients was renewed. A lady Beth, who works there, replied saying they had not come across this renewal because they were still working on February's mail. I replied saying our renewal was sent on January 23rd, and I attached the FedEx tracking showing it was delivered on January 25th at 9:26 a.m. Eastern or 8:26 a.m. Central; it even shows who signed for it. She replied 11 days later saying they have not come across this renewal, "we are still working on current mails now". I called her last Monday. She went and looked while she had me waiting for 25 minutes on the phone. She came back and said they did not have the mail. I called back and left a voicemail for the manager miss Lily Sandley. She called me back today and she said they had received our mail but it was returned because it was filled out the wrong way by our filer (not me, I work in confirmations only). Since I did not even get to ask Beth about the other piece of mail we also sent even earlier on January, I asked her about this quarterly tax return mail. She said they did receive it and it was valid. When I brought to her attention the fact that miss Beth could have found the same thing and told me the same as she did, she explained that "we work here as a team so we all looked and searched for it"; then I said, literally "that means that if your employees do not do the work with you then they are not able to do the right work", to which she responded "Please do not be insulting sir". Now, how in the world was I being insulting just by telling her her employees' performance? I also told her this and she got reactive, so at this point I said "Well, since you are not willing to admit the truth then there is no point to keep talking". She tried to keep talking but then said "Okay you have a good day sir" and hung up on me. She is the one who should take matters into her own hands and TRAIN her employees appropriately, for them to be able to handle a simple request, and not the customer having to wait 16 days for an accurate response. I am avoiding this government office at all costs next time."
