Nestled in the heart of Marianna, Florida, at 4141 Laramore Road, our family-owned business is part of the historic Bar L Ranch, renowned for its beef cattle operations since the early 1900s. Our citrus grove, planted in 2003, boasts 750 satsuma and Lee tangerine trees, thriving in the rich soil and ideal climate of Jackson County.
At Bar L Citrus, we take pride in our commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. Our fruits are carefully harvested by hand and processed in our on-site USDA-approved packing facility on the same day to ensure peak freshness. We adhere to Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and undergo a Food Safety Audit at the beginning of each harvest season to maintain the highest standards.
Our satsumas, beloved for their easy-to-peel zipper skin, sweet flavor, and virtually seedless nature, are part of the mandarin family and are exceptionally cold-hardy, surviving temperatures as low as 14°F. Thanks to the expertise of the agricultural research departments at the University of Florida and Auburn University, we employ innovative cold protection techniques to safeguard our trees from harsh weather.
Bar L Citrus is proud to continue the legacy of the once-thriving Satsuma Industry in Jackson County, which was known as the "Satsuma Capital of the World" in the early 20th century. Although Hurricane Michael brought challenges in 2018, our resilient trees have rebounded, and we are thrilled to share our delicious citrus with you.
We invite you to visit us during the harvest season in November and December to experience the freshness of our satsumas, tangerines, navel oranges, lemons, and grapefruits firsthand.
