"Changing rating from 1 to 3 stars a year later, they're now called BMO (prev Bank of the West) and they offered $400 bonus to open a checking account with direct deposit. My husband and I both opened new accounts to take advantage of that and surprisingly the process wasn't half as bad. 4 months later after the requirements are met, we got our bonus right on schedule. We went in to the branch half past 11 on Saturday morning to cash out our bonus at the window and got out a little after noon! . . . A couple years ago when they were Bank of the West... Just a terrible bank overall, whoever that did the programming on the ATM machine should be fired. Instead of telling your max withdraw, it'll just keep on canceling the transaction, making it a guessing game. We got new checking account with $250 sign up bonus and limit to only 1 per household. They also charge $10 fee if no deposit activity for a free checking account"

"This was my first time visiting the branch in Oxnard. To my surprise there was no line when I walked in, the teller was very friendly and able to help me in a quick and efficient manner. Branch does close at five so you have to get your business done during normal operating hours. I did visit the branch the next day after hours to see their ATM and it does have the capability to deposit cash and checks outside so you can always use this feature if the branch is closed. This branch is in a convenient location with lots of restaurants and shopping nearby."

"AVOID THIS BANK!!! The girls that work at this bank are nice. However, the computer issues the branch has had in the last year that close the branch are terrible service. I need a receipt, so I cannot put my deposit in the night drop. I am not a signer on the business account, so I don't have an atm card to use in the machine. The bank charges $29 a month for business mobile banking, and my partner does not want to pay for it. Therefore, my deposits are postponed for days and days or I can drive 25 miles if I'd like to use the nearest branch. Lucky me. They also close at 4:00 when they manage to open. That causes schedule issues! Furthermore, they have cashed about $15,000 in stolen checks in the last year. I hope we switch banks asap!!! This is awful service!!!"

"I work for a company who issued Per Diem checks drawn from Bank of the West. On a Saturday morning where my own bank was closed, I took my two Per Diem checks into this branch to cash. After the teller had me sign and fingerprint the checks, she informed me there would be a $7.50 fee each to cash the checks. After my rhetorical response of "REALLLLLLLLY...." The teller offered me her PROGRAMMED courtesy of eliminating one of the fees only charging me $7.50 to cash the checks drawn WITH THIS BANK. Needless to say this place is a joke. I'd never bank with these people."

"This bank lives on penny pinching. I ordered a book of checks and paid $25 for them. I needed one temp check but they said I had to order four and then pay for them. I informed them I already ordered checks so they would not charge me, but they did anyways. Another charge is for there bank statements of $3.00, I tried to cancel the statements and they just gave me the run around then told me to set up everything online. After the yahoo and equifax hack i prefer not to do online banking. I would suggest using chase as your go to bank, I have never had a problem with them."
