"I loved it here! I saw cranes, baby geese with their mom, squirrels and bunnies all within in hour. It’s an amazing loop trail with a biking, walking and horse path"
"This is a great reclaimed wetland off the LA River bike trail. It's a serene bird-watcher's paradise, with a very easy walking trail. The trail is wide enough for bicyclists on the west end, but the east side should be reserved for pedestrians. There are also horseback riders passing through on their way to a separate trail. There is some bike parking as well, and shaded picnic bench. However, there is no potable water around, so be sure to pack your own water bottle. In terms of nature, there are geese, mallards, coots, a variety of birds (I spotted a gold finch, a heron, Northern mockingbird, a pair of terns, and some kind of canary, and heard an owl), lizards and squirrels. I haven't seen any turtles yet but it seems like the right habitat. On the walk you will spot a ton of reeds, California buckwheat, wild lavender, and wild tobacco. Insect repellent and sunscreen are suggested on sunny days."
"This place is located right behind my house. It is an excellent walking trail and also an access point to get onto the bike trail that runs along the LA River. You can enjoy some very interesting wildlife here. I have seen some beautiful and unusual birds. The ducks are aleveryday resident of this pond. Maybe three times I have run into snakes but totally harmless and minding their own business. So if you bring your children they do get to see ducks and during spring a lot of ducklings. I take my dog here everyday."
"If you are looking for a hike this is not the spot it is literally some wetlands that are created between some housing and the LA River hello activity was half and half I did not feel entirely safe but I don't think that it is unsafe if you live in the area it's a nice afternoon hike not too many people soft ground most far you going to look at the new wetlands but is what it is enjoy or if you want a real hike go somewhere else. Also probably best to park at the park off of del amo Don't try and park in the neighborhood near the country club it's kind of hard to find the place there. Final now watch out for horses I don't know where the horses stay but I did see a couple horses while I was there so just letting you know Cheers mates."
"I love hiking and running here. I recently brought a friend, and she really enjoyed it too. Lots of beautiful wildlife to see and hear. For the most part, it's clean. If you follow the loop trail all the way around, however, I'd exercise situational awareness, as there are sometimes transient people in the area. I've never had a bad experience there, but it might be a good idea to bring a companion, just to play it safe."
