"DO NOT USE THIS FACILITY! If you want to store your items in a climate controlled environment without any worries DONT USE THIS SMART STOP SELF STORAGE!! I have 2 units & 1 of them was recently damaged by water inside the facility & the items inside are full of mold & mildew. They did admit that there was an incident on their part. However they have done nothing to fix, prevent or compensate on this matter. I was told that since I purchased the insurance for that unit I needed to file a claim with the insurance company. It was also a “must have requirement by FEMA” however when attempting to contact the insurance company NO ONE ever answers the phone. You are instructed to leave a voicemail and they will contact you asap. I have left several messages but when the lady calls you back, she tells me that I cannot file a claim for mold & mildew!! WHAT?? I have been paying for this insurance every month for almost a year only to be told I can’t file a claim!! I’m told this even with the lady knowing that the incident responsibly lies upon Smart Stop self storage. I have asked for help getting my items out of the unit, they said well you can move it to another unit. This is an oxymoron statement!!! I was even told that I have to dispose of all of the boxes that contain mold & mildew either at home or I can put a few of them in their dumpster. This is Not Climate Controlled by no means! So do yourself a favor and find a place that actually does what they advertise!! I have included some photos as well"

"Had to delete my old 5-Star review since I don't know if edited ones notify the business and I would love to work with them with my issue. I've been renting from this location for well over a year now, it used to be Extra Space before Smart Stop took over. I'm updating my review now because they've had a mold outbreak that has affected several units, including mine and I lost $1400 worth of items that were insured a few days ago. When Smart Stop took over, they guaranteed me I could keep my rate I had previously with Extra Space as well as keep and honor my insurance - which goes above their $5k max and also covered ANY DAMAGES BY WATER. Turns out, this was a lie, as Smart Stop's insurance policy is worthless and doesn't cover a single thing, especially water damage and mold, go figure. The best part is that none of this was disclosed to me at the time of taking over, so despite me having been over paying for a worthless insurance policy, I'm also out $1400 worth of property because of damages caused on their end by lack of quality control. Mold wouldn't occur if it was actually climate controlled. The cherry on top was that they even told me it's "stupid to keep more than $5k worth of items in storage", as if waiting for a house to be done, being in between living spaces, and having your whole life packed away is such an unusual concept. Even better was this happened a month out of when I'm hopefully supposed to move out, so I made it this far just to be treated like this. If they want to help out and cooperate, I'd gladly change my rating since they'd deserve it, but as of now this has been a nightmare."

"Beware!!! Take Notice!! I had originally given a 5 star review because the staff were extremely helpful and friendly when moving into the facility plus the facility is clean however after storing my household goods and furniture in the unit for just less than 3 months to find mold/mildew growing on it I have completely changed my opinion. The facility claims and advertises climate control but there were numerous times I had gone to retrieve a few things and it felt humid in the building like there was no a/c running. The night time temperature had been abnormally low (cold) for the area so I inquired when I was moving out if they were having problems with their climate control. I was informed there was no problems so I explained that my furniture had mildew/mold growing on it and the tape on my boxes was starting to peel off. My one box was so moist it actually became wrinkled. I sent an email with pictures of my furniture and some boxes (like I was asked to do) to the store about 2 weeks ago and haven’t heard anything from anyone. Attached are photos of some boxes and a piece of furniture before loading onto the truck. Since all my furniture was covered while in storage I wasn’t aware of the amount of damage to my fireplace until I uncovered it. This picture is also included. I suggest keeping a watch on your items stored at this facility so this doesn’t happen to your belongings. I was here for less than 3 months. So grateful it wasn’t any longer!! They advertise and set their cost for a climate control facility but don’t monitor it otherwise my furniture and belongings wouldn’t have mildew and mold growing on it and everything I own wouldn’t be smelling of mold. Be aware!!! Take CAUTION!"
