"My brother had a knee replacement with a lot of complications afterwards. He did a metal allergy testing to find he was highly allergic to nickel and is having to undergo a revision. I spoke with my doctor about doing the metal allergy testing before my replacement surgery and he agreed it was a good idea. The whole process was very simple. I got my results back showing that I too was highly allergic to nickel. My replacement surgery was two days ago with a nickel free implant. My pain and swelling have been mild. So thankful I did the testing with full support of my doctor."

"I was told the test was not covered by insurance by my doctor. The only problem I have with it is, the solution I was told was to have surgery and if it turned out I was allergic to the metals used, I would have to have a second surgery to replace the parts I'm allergic to. So why would insurance rather pay for two surgeries versus one test when I've already had the allergy listed in my medical files? Anyway, you order the test. You receive the test and pay for it. You take it to doctor for blood draw, then you must immediately ship it back. I AM reactive to Nickel. I'm glad I took the test. Everything I needed was included. I simply took the box to my local draw station and they followed the directions in the box.
