"I'm not one for long reviews and this was not easy for me to post publicly. That being said, I'm upset with my experience here because i was so excited to try this studio. For background, i am a newly diagnosed type 1 diabetic and just recently worked up the confidence to try a new spin class again (something i used to do very consistently before these health changes) They told me they had a no phone policy, which i understand for the sake of cell phones, but i tried to explain how my phone is simultaneously a medical device that receives constant readings from my CGM. Two stars because one girl I spoke with was very nice and tried to be understanding. The manager continued to tell me it was their policy and they have other diabetics who don't need their phone during the class. This felt very disrespectful to me and honestly made me feel not only embarrassed about the situation happening but embarrassed about my disease and how I don't have as great of a handle on it yet compared to your "other diabetics" who go there. She told me she wasn't a medical professional (which also felt insulting) so that was their policy. I feel like i should mention this conversation was not understanding or pleasant. I'm hoping this is just a training issue and not the studios actual policy. I would recommend allowing reasonable accommodations for those who need it (as every other workout studio has figured out as well) Upset something I used to love so much made me feel so embarrassed and shot all confidence I had in trying."

"I’ve been cycling for 4 years and have tried every studio in St. Pete and Tampa, here are a couple experiences that happened to me at Central cycling -Instructor grabbed my phone out of the bike holster and told me I can’t have it in class (that’s fine, I understand, just don’t touch my stuff). When I asked for it back the instructor hesitated to hand it over and lectured me. Never been in a class where we can’t have our phones, but ok. -If you have class pass, expect to be assigned to the worst bike in a dark corner. The studio assigned me to a bike on the very end that does not use clip in shoes. I stood at the front counter for 10 minutes while they scrambled to work something out for me because I had clip in shoes. Meanwhile they let their entire studio staff take all The front row bikes. I almost had to leave and reschedule but thankfully someone didn’t show up and I could take their bike. Just super unprofessional. -I was 1 minute late to a morning class because of traffic. At 9:01 the front door was locked and blinds were shut. I stood outside knocking on the door until 9:02 until someone came out and told me I wasn’t allowed in class. I was one. Minute. Late. I’ve never seen another studio do this. How unprofessional to leave a patron outside in the heat when I paid for the class and drove 20 min to be here. -I took a class and the instructor clearly could not keep up. She was off her bike for half the class and couldn’t even do her own workout. Due to all these reasons I’m dropping central and won’t be coming back. Would not recommend to a friend. If you want a friendlier studio I’d recommend union 3, cycle bar, or soho cycle."

"I was really bummed to leave my studio when I first moved here from Texas, but while I was visiting to search for a house, I attended a class, and one of the instructors was Ramone. After the class, he thanked me for coming, and I spent a few minutes telling him that I was in the process of relocating to Saint Pete and looking for a studio. Despite having just taught a really difficult class, he took the time to talk to me and ask me questions, get to know me a little bit on a more personal level, and told me that I would always have a place with Central Cycling if I ended up moving here and needed a new studio. The way that he made me feel seen and also the way he honestly made me feel more excited about my move is one of the biggest reasons I immediately decided that once I moved, Central Cycling would be my studio, even though the classes were a little bit more challenging than what I was used to. Everybody made me feel very welcome, and I have only grown more and more fond of the studio and the community. They’ve built since moving here in March. I can’t say enough great things about this studio, and I am always looking forward to class no matter how tired or busy I am because I know that I get to see some of my favorite instructors, and I will leave the class feeling empowered. -Lauren McCormick"

"Central Cycling is AMAZING!!! I have been going there for almost 3 years and it is my 2nd home. Who wouldn't want a place where they greet you with a warm smile and encourage a community of supportive riders? The best part is you can be yourself and ride at your own pace without feeling like someone is judging. Got stress? "Spin it out" as every instructor is enthusiastic and works hard to bring us upbeat music and fun moves. I've had the chance to meet so many people in this gym and they are all so friendly. So come give us a try... we'd love to meet you!"
