Nestled within the boundaries of the U.S. Naval Air Station, just eight miles southwest of downtown Pensacola, this cemetery offers a serene and respectful environment for those who have served our country.

About Us

Barrancas National Cemetery is part of a nationwide system of national cemeteries dedicated to honoring veterans and their families. We provide burial space for casketed and cremated remains, offering a dignified resting place for eligible veterans, their spouses, and dependents. We are proud to be part of a digital initiative called the Veterans Legacy Memorial (VLM), which allows families and friends to create lasting tributes to nearly 10 million veterans. Through VLM, you can share comments, photos, and stories to celebrate the lives and achievements of your loved ones.

Visiting Us

Our office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., excluding federal holidays, except for Memorial Day. Please note that access to Barrancas National Cemetery is dependent on entry to the Naval Air Station, and conditions may change without prior notice. We recommend checking the Naval Air Station's visitor information website or contacting their Pass and Tag office for the latest access requirements.

Eligibility and Services

Burial in Barrancas National Cemetery is available to all members of the armed forces who meet the minimum active duty service requirements and were discharged under conditions other than dishonorable. Eligible family members, including spouses, minor children, and certain adult children with disabilities, may also be buried here. For specific eligibility criteria, please refer to the VA National Cemetery Administration.

Floral and Memorial Guidelines

We welcome natural cut flowers year-round and provide temporary flower vases on-site. Please adhere to our floral regulations to maintain the dignity of the cemetery. We allow artificial flowers from November 10 through March 1, and potted plants during designated holiday periods. Note that permanent items, offensive adornments, and hazardous materials are not permitted.
