"If l had listened to this Dr, (Chirag Patel) you wouldn't be reading this right now. Since Dr's now a days discourage you from going to the hospital. You are supposed to call them & then they let you know if you should go to the ER or not. On a Sunday, I called the Dr's # & they called me back, l explained that l was having extreme pain in my stomach & was advised to come into the office the next day. My roommate said we are going to the ER, by the time she parked & come into the ER, l was in SURGER!! I woke up in the ICU & was there for a week. Unfortunately the next month the pains were back, l called the Dr's office & he called back & again l explained l had extreme pains in my stomach again, this time l was told that l had "Food Poisoning" (Which l knew wasn't the cause, since l had food poisoning before). He told me not to go to the ER, but to come into the office the next day. My roommate who knew what was going on & came in my room to check on me & said "you look like you are dying, l am bringing you to the ER". I don't even remember going to the hospital & the next thing I remembered was waking up in ICU again. The Dr did not know what was wrong with my spleen, since l had no prior trauma, but he said "We didn't know why it was infected the 1st time or the 2nd time, but we can't let in get infected again" it had to come out. I have a 14 inch scar down the middle of my stomach."
