Raised in Kentucky, Dr. Blankenship is a proud graduate of Morehead State University, where she earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. She then moved on to teach in the RN program at Pensacola Junior College before pursuing her medical degree. In 1994, she graduated with an M.D. from the University of South Alabama and completed her residency with the U.S. Navy. Additionally, she holds a Master’s in Public Health and is board certified in preventive medicine.
Dr. Blankenship's career spans over 14 years, during which she has practiced preventive medicine with the U.S. Navy and the Florida Department of Health, as well as primary care with the Florida Department of Corrections and Florida State University. Her extensive experience makes her an invaluable asset to the Island Doctors team, focusing on enhancing the health and well-being of the senior population in Escambia and Santa Rosa County.
