Budget Car Rental

"Currently been on line for 40 minutes and my guess is I have another 30 or so. It’s Saturday of Memorial Day weekend and of the 12 desks that are available, there are 5 employees. All the employees are doing a fine job but how you can decide to have five employees on a day like today is solely incompetence of management. All the other companies have little to no line. Based on the other reviews this is the last time we ever use budget , here’s to hoping the car we requested is at least available"

"RSW Budget rental / Counter Reps were fine, car received was a absolute terrible car which should of been junked/retired years ago. Car Number 98173574 - Nissan Rouge For starers, I get it supply/demand, they don't need to try for business at a Florida airport as business is always there but to not even clean cars including this one is a shame for the customers. Don't roll out junk just for a buck. Put the car on the sidelines and offer something else. 80K miles on this Nissan, radio stations didn't come in, antenna on roof was broke off. Tires were bald, car shook immensely at speeds over 50mph. Just a terrible experience. I've rented with budget year after year and that may change now. Also how they call back to lot attendants on needing a car is a terrible process. Radio " I need a XL, MM and a ZF" - 10 mins later the guys on the lot rattle off some numbers without customers being able to pick a car that would work for them Would avoid Budget at RSW for a while, seems like all recent reviews are the same."

"Budget at the Fort Myers airport (RSW) might be the worst ran rental location. James, the front desk associate, was fine he helped us out no issues woth him. But the vehicles we got were terrible. The first reeked intensely like cigarettes, and they even had all the windows, doors, and back hatch opened to try and air it out. No other car on the lot had even their windows down. When trying to swap out vehicles, it was difficult because their associates didn't notice the cigarette smell. Sorry, but how can you not. We weren't even all the way up to the vehicle and could smell it. The second vehicle we got was not cleaned inside or out and looked to have been in some sort of accident. Dents and scrapes literally all over the SUV, it was even marked up with white "X's" on the sides like it was about to get repaired. There were things broken on the inside, and the rear lift assisted hatch was broken as well with a notification on the dash. With all these issues, how does Budget even send out a vehicle in that condition. Will never rent from Budget again. And for all those thinking of doing it, especially from this location, beware of issues with your car/SUV"

"Car was filthy, with sand throughout, animal crackers, cookies and chips under the seats along with a used toothbrush. Nasty! Rear passenger seatbelt was locked behind the headrest like some one moved it out of the way for a child seat. The locked belt took three grown men to get it released. Grease marker writing on three of the windows. Corporate customer service would not assist and required us to call the leasing location at Fort Myers FL Airport. No one ever answered the phone at that location for days until I finally gave up."

"The car was not right. It had issues such as it pulled and rode rough. The tires are cupped. Mismatch tires on the car. Air pressure off in the tires. The exterior was not washed. Under pinning was hanging down and had to have it zip tied up to keep it from catching on the road. Dent on the driver back door. The car had been abused. Had a hard knock in take off in the transmission. Called customer service to get a different car and was transferred around. I was initially told to turn it in on my insurance! Negative, I didn't do damage to the car. Stopped at a budget center all they had available was a minivan which was not comparable to a charger. The budget center took my contact info, said they would call me in the morning of Wednesday. I never received the call. I drove the car as no one appeared to want to help me. Even when I turned the car in, the check-in girl walked off as I was telling her the problems. The car is also due for an oil change."
