"Booked a reservation through Concur for 2 nights for business. Arrived at hotel to be told that they had oversold and did not have any rooms left. Told him I had a reservation and confirmation number. Didn't matter, they had already given my room away. Offered no help to find another hotel, or any other compensation. Left me to fend for myself. To add to this, told me he was waiting to tell other people that they had lost their rooms as well. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!! RUN AWAY!!!!!!"
"It's OK. Even though the place has seen better days, they have a waffle maker and good coffee in the morning. If you have an EV realize the charger is broken and apparently hasn't worked for over a year - and doesn't look like it will get fixed anytime soon. This "quality" in is not a priority in Choice Hotels' fleet. That said, the bed we slept in was not that comfortable, but the room was clean. Stay here, but whatever you do, *don't* stay at the Quality Inn in Batavia to the west."
"The room was REALLY dirty. We wore flip flops the whole time in the room and shower shoes because the floor and tub were so dirty. There were literally muddy shoe prints in the bathroom, sticky spots on the floor, and dusty surfaces to top it off. The room had a strong smell I couldn’t identify when we got there and was abnormally hot. We checked the thermostat and it was set to “heat” not “cool”. It probably wasn’t heating the room, but we expected the room to at least have the A/C on after coming inside from a hot July day. In the morning, the hot water wasn’t working. Front desk said that no one had hot water, they had maintenance working on it, but they had no idea how long it would take. We had an event to go to and couldn’t take a shower after staying in the dirty, stinky, hot room. When I came back later in the day to check on the shower, my key card had been deactivated. Had to go back down to the front desk for the second time that day to get it working. I’ve stayed in some pretty janky hostels—I’m not a picky customer when traveling—but I’ve never had as many issues as I did at this hotel."
"I stayed in room 265, and the following day, I had bumps on my skin; I checked the corners of the mattress for bed bugs and didn't see anything. The second day, I began smelling a scent from what I thought were the sheets, and I removed the top sheet. I then removed the fitted sheet and lifted the mattress protector, and this disgusting stain had the worst smell imaginable. I am so disturbed that someone would not think to remove this mattress as it can spread diseases."
"I stayed at the Quality Inn & Suites East Syracuse on 5/3/24-5/5/24. I checked in on 5/3/24 at 11:21pm with a young lady named D. She asked for my ID and Credit Card. I handed her both, she confirmed my ID, and upon handing the cards back to me I started to put them away. She told me that she would need my credit card again so she could write down the number for incidentals. I watched her write my card number down and then she handed it back to me. At 8:05 the next morning (5/4/24) I received an email and text notification from my bank stating there was a suspicious $229.03 charge on my card. Thankfully, my bank was able to block the charge and cancel my credit card. At 12:01PM that afternoon I called the hotel to inform them of the suspicious activity and explained the situation to the desk clerk, A. The manager was not in, so I left my name and number with him for J, the manager, to call me back. I didn't hear from J, so at 5:40 PM I called the hotel again. This time I spoke to R, the desk clerk, and he acknowledged that he was aware of the situation, but that J was going to call me. When I arrived back at the hotel at approx 7:10PM, I saw R, and while he was apologetic, he did not know why I hadn't heard from J. I informed him that I would be down to the front desk in the morning and I was assured that the manager would be available to talk to. The next morning, 5/5/24, I went to the desk at 9:45 and A. greeted me. He informed me that J. wasn't in yet but would let me know when she was. I told him that I was going to be checking out at 10:15 and inquired if she would be in by then. As I was talking to him, he actually received a phone call from J, he conveyed the message to me that she would be in later, took my number and said she would call me. At 1:33PM I still hadn't received a call from J. so I called the hotel again. A. answered and said he had not seen J. yet and but thought maybe she'd be in in the next half hour or so. At 5:05PM I still hadn't received a call from anyone at the hotel so I called again. This time it was R. and he said that J. wasn't in but that he thought she was in before his shift started at 3:00. This time I was absolutely livid and was told that J. was not scheduled to be in for the next 2 days and that she should be in on Wednesday 5/8/24. J. was aware of a very serious situation unfolding and she ignored me. When I arrived home from my road trip I called Choice Corporate and gave them all my information. There is a camera at the front desk that would have captured everything that transpired at 11:21PM on 5/3/24. Richard Billings, Director of Operations for the company that owns the hotel, got back to me right away and assured me they would look into it. He also felt the need to tell me to "consider that there may be other sources at which your card was compromised in the meantime." I already know this obviously. A week later I heard back from Mr. Billings saying he reviewed the camera footage and "The front employee did not write down your credit card but simply entered it into your profile on the front desk system. As I mentioned, I would suggest also other possibilities that your credit card was compromised." I asked to see a copy of the video as I do not believe this is what transpired the night I checked in, not to mention my card info should have already been in the computer since I booked the room online. It's now been 5 weeks and I still haven't seen the video that has been promised to me. I've been holding off a the review in hopes that someone would have taken my concern seriously. I also took photos of the horrible condition of the hotel. They put lipstick on a pig in this hotel. The hallway reeked of marijuana, the AC unit was old and didn't work so to cool off we opened the window. It didn't have a screen and led directly onto the rooftop, easy in or easy out, either way it was a huge safety concern. There was some kind of spots on the bathroom ceiling/walls and the breakfast area was atrocious. Do NOT stay here!!!"
