About the Business

American Legion Post 803

Welcome to American Legion Post 803, a proud cornerstone of the Southold, New York community. Located at 51655 Main Road, our post is dedicated to honoring the service and sacrifice of veterans, promoting patriotism, and supporting our local community through various initiatives.

At Post 803, we are committed to upholding the Four Pillars of the American Legion: Veterans Affairs & Rehabilitation, National Security, Americanism, and Children & Youth. These guiding principles shape our efforts to provide essential services and advocacy for veterans and active military members, foster a sense of national pride, and create opportunities for youth development.

Our members are actively involved in community outreach and engagement. A special shout-out goes to our member, Vincent Guastmacchia, who hosts the "Small Town Values" podcast. This platform highlights important discussions around sustaining agriculture on the North Fork, with intriguing episodes like "Am I a Local Yet?" that delve into the essence of community values. Be sure to check it out [here](https://perimeteragency.com/small-town-values/).

We also take immense pride in honoring our veterans. Recently, we participated in a heartfelt ceremony at Peconic Landing, where Edwin Cartoski was recognized as New York State's 2023 Veteran of the Year by Senator Anthony Palumbo and VFW Post 5350. Colonel Cartoski's remarkable military career, spanning from World War II to the Korean War, is a testament to his unwavering dedication and bravery. His contributions were celebrated with a Challenge coin presentation from the Sons of the Legion.

American Legion Post 803 is more than just a veterans' organization; it is a community hub where history, service, and camaraderie come together. We invite you to join us in our mission to support veterans and enrich our community. For more information, please feel free to reach out or mail us a letter at P.O. Box 591, Southold, NY 11971. Together, we can continue to honor our past while shaping a brighter future for all.
