Reviews
"Beautiful, art-deco sanctuary. The congregation was founded in 1911. In 110 years there have been just 6 rabbis. Wonderful, multigenerational reform, congregation with a growing religious school. Great rabbi. Corner of Marlborough Rd. and Church Ave."
"Very friendly, welcoming place. Great rabbi and congregation."
"I have only recently experienced this shul on YouTube and am extremely moved by the services. It's interesting to me, that another reviewer named this and the Actor's Temple on West 47th in Manhattan as their two heartfelt favorites because I, a San Franciscan with very limited experience in New York shuls had had the same thought! Both places are true sanctuaries, probably owing to the loveliness of their beautiful clergy and the reflected loveliness of the congregants."
"This is a very welcoming congregation with a very caring and compassionate rabbi. She helped me and others get through the misery of the 11 killed in Pittsburgh. The congregation is diverse and racially mixed. They do not pressure people who have little money to pay the huge membership fees that most Jewish Houses of worship do that I have encountered. One recently was the Union Temple. The only problem is accessibility to their parties and food functions after services. However the Temple is accessible to the area where worship services are held. To their defense they are working on making their room in the basement accessible too. The worship area is beautiful with good sounds that echo from the podium. They have a wonderful chorus too. This house of worship in Brooklyn and the Actors Temple in Manhattan are my favorite places of worship. Thanks to the rabbis, staff, elected boards, volunteers and welcoming congregants!"
