The Next Step Community Church

Welcome to The Next Step Community Church, a warm and welcoming place of worship located at 360 Schermerhorn Street, Brooklyn, New York. Our church is dedicated to living out the teachings of Jesus, especially His call to serve others: "Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me." We invite you to join us in our mission to provide help and support to those in need through various community initiatives.

Our vibrant children's ministry, iGnite Kidz, offers a dynamic church experience for children ages 5-12 every Sunday at 10 a.m., coinciding with our adult service. Here, children learn about the Bible and what it means to follow Jesus in a way that's engaging and relevant to their everyday lives. Led by Rosa, whose passion for creating meaningful and enjoyable Sunday school experiences is inspired by her own journey, iGnite Kidz is a place where children can grow in their faith and form lasting friendships.

Our dedicated team includes experienced educators and passionate leaders like Janet, a seasoned Christian with a background in social work and a love for teaching, and Robert, our pastor with nearly 15 years of service at Next Step Community Church. Shelley and Pedro, longtime members and leaders, bring their deep commitment to children's ministry, while Justin and Betsy, both with extensive backgrounds in education, focus on nurturing the next generation of young believers.
