"Great little park, especially if you happen to be a folding kayaker. It was an adventure. I took the subway to 219th Street and walked over with my gear, including my boat. Assembled it and made my way downriver to Cement Plant Park where I took out. There are several portages where you have dams and rapids and the like but they are either obvious or marked. Amazing to see some of the historic buildings like the old mill house along the way and enjoy what looks like wilderness around the Botanical Garden (even though you can frequently hear cars or locals laughing and asking for rides). Most folks will be better off going on a trip with the Bronx River conservation folks who offer lots of free canoeing trips at various points along the river. It is wonderful to see the river being restored to its former beauty and to see a lot of wildlife returning. A testament to the many volunteers that have worked tirelessly over many years."

"It smelled strongly like a porta-john (feces) when I visited, even though there was a strong breeze. The portage is down a steep hill, and it's far from the street. It's right next to a playground bathroom. In August with a drought, the stream is too low for boating. There were two Veo bicycles in the water at the launch."

"Grew up across the street from this place. My family still lives here, love the park. The city needs to take better care of the river, it's not very clean."

"I grew up in this park. It's quiet and understated and I love that. It's nice that they added the kayak lunch section. They have events that you just have to catch for when they do kayak. Not many people participate but I like it that way. But if you ever thinking of doing it take my review as the go ahead you'll enjoy not just the kayak launch but she leaves Park and it's entirety."
