"During my training and on the summer time.I walk there every morning and it's a very nice monuments. It's a very nice place and it's quiet. Great memories."
"Bell Tower Park is a beautiful site to visit, completed in 1930 to honor many of the veterans who served and made the ultimate sacrifice for their country during world war I. The bell was cast in 1762 for a Mexican monastery, General Winfield Scott captured the bell during the Mexican war of 1844-1846 and after having been tolled in several fire houses the bell was then added to the tower during its completion. The site is very well kept by NYC Parks Dept. staff members, it's surrounding ornamental shrubs, hedges and plants add to the beautification of the monument, the bronze plaques embedded to the monument is dedicated in memoriam to the fallen heroes who's names are engraved to it and were from the local Kingsbridge, Spuyten Duyvil and Riverdale areas. A nice place to tour on Memorial day or Veterans day or to give a history lesson as this is a nationally listed historic site additionally, the tower is the site of the biggest menorah lighting in the Bronx"
