Welcome to the Groton Public Library, your community hub for knowledge, discovery, and enrichment, located at 112 East Cortland Street, Groton, New York. As a cornerstone of the Groton community, we are proud to announce the completion of our 2024-2027 Long Range Plan, which was thoughtfully crafted with input from dedicated community members, focus groups, and surveys. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed, including Heidi Eckerson from the Finger Lakes Library System, our diligent staff, volunteers, and patrons. Your support and insights are vital to ensuring a bright future for this cherished institution.
At Groton Public Library, we are committed to providing a welcoming and resourceful environment for all. Whether you’re here to explore our extensive collection of books, attend engaging programs, or simply enjoy a quiet reading space, we strive to meet the diverse needs of our patrons.

"I use the Groton public Library regularly for a wealth of different things. It’s so much more than books but I’m a book nerd so anytime I’m looking for a new release or wanting a specific book or author, the staff is always more than willing to help me find what I’m looking for or order from another library. Groton reminds me of the two small town libraries I frequented in CT when I lived there. Staying present with todays community needs while maintains my favorite small town atmosphere. It offers an atmosphere that is welcoming to all. I can find numerous activities or a quiet nook to indulge in my love of reading if that’s what I choose."
"Always a great place to visit, staff and volunteers are super helpful. I save hundreds of dollars getting movies free from them and The Fingerlakes Library system. All you have to do is select and place a hold on one a few days before your planned movie night and you'll be sure to have what you want. Need one today? They have a huge selection available and their hours are convenient, too!"
