"I brought my dog to this place cause she couldn't fully open her mouth and had some bleeding in her saliva. At the appointment the doctor barely checked my dog’s mouth and rushed into giving me a diagnosis. Dr said it was teeth problems and my pitbull needed teeth extraction. I was quoted close to 2k for the whole teeth procedure. I was unsure that was the problem and went to a different vet. My pitbull got fully checked at this other veterinary turned out the problem was never her teeth she had other issue going on. I will no longer bring my dog to Shirley vet. It felt like they saw me as a wallet rather than a worried pet parent"

"You are better off going to a vet emergency ER in Setauket for real pet care. This Vet was afraid of my dog. This Vet rushed process and didn’t fully examine what my dog needed. Waste of time and waste of money to even think they would help."

"Dr. Archer and his staff are amazing. We’ve had the opportunity of working with them for routine care, surgery, rehabilitation and more with 4 of our dogs now. I had the privilege of meeting Dr. Archer about 3 years ago when my senior black lab required orthopedic care and rehabilitation. Through swim therapy, laser treatments, and pain management, my lab Troy was able to comfortably live a life with us until age 15. I don’t ever doubt that the care of this team contributed to that. Yesterday, Dr. Archer performed a third dental surgery on my 9 year old shih tzu mix, with 7 tooth extractions, and everything went great. The team is caring and compassionate- always comforting not only to my pets, but me with any anxiety I may be experiencing as their fur mama. This office is great and if you haven’t gone, you should. We’re blessed to have met Dr. Archer and his staff. Highly recommend."

"they treated my cat with so much care i liked the doctors but if you want a cozy doctor for you that has a really sweet personality maybe this isn’t the vet for you but i like when the doctor isn’t so cuddly she was gentle with my cat and nice though so i recommend her, it was pretty pricey i would say but overall she is helping my cat get better from her upper respiratory infection ❤️❤️"

"Dr. Archer and his team at Shirley Veterinary Hospital and Healing Hands 4 Paws are the best of the best. I have been involved in dog rescue for years and have meet and worked with so many veterinarians from all over the world, but Dr. Archer and his staff are truly exceptional. Dr. Archer's genuine care of his patients shines through in everything he does. He personally spent so much time working with my senior golden retriever, Bailey, to make sure she was comfortable and getting all of therapies that she needed so that she could get stronger. Bailey was slow and nervous, but never once did Dr. Archer or anyone else rush her to keep on schedule. Instead, they gently encouraged her, gaining her trust, and in so doing, they developed a relationship with Bailey that allowed her to benefit greatly from her therapy. I can truly say they cared for my dog as if she were their own. I am eternally grateful for all that they did to help her."
