About the Business
Welcome to the Syracuse Fire Department Training Division, located at 312 State Fair Boulevard, Syracuse, New York. As a dedicated fire station, we are committed to delivering the highest level of public safety services to our community through a comprehensive all-hazards approach. Our mission is to protect lives and property through expert fire suppression, emergency medical response, disaster management, fire prevention, and public education.
Covering a 25 square mile area with a population of 144,000 that increases during daytime hours, our team of over 350 highly trained firefighters responds to more than 21,000 alarms each year. We are proud to be one of fewer than 300 fire departments nationwide to achieve an ISO Class 1 rating, reflecting our excellence in fire protection services.
Our bureau is responsible for investigating all fires under New York State General Municipal Law 204-d, ensuring thorough and professional assessments. We also maintain operational readiness by keeping our fire apparatus and buildings in top condition. Beyond standard medical and fire response, our specialized training programs equip our companies to handle a variety of complex emergencies.
