About the Business

Cutchogue Village Green

Welcome to Cutchogue Village Green, a serene and historically rich park located at 27320 Main Road, Cutchogue, New York. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit educational organization, we are dedicated to preserving and interpreting the vibrant history of Cutchogue and New Suffolk, Long Island. Our mission is to maintain the Cutchogue Village Green and the Old Burying Ground as living memorials to the original founders and all residents of these cherished communities.

The history of this area dates back over 10,000 years, with archeological evidence suggesting that Native Americans inhabited the North Fork of Long Island. Visitors can explore our park and learn about the fascinating history of the region, including the Old House, renowned as the finest example of English domestic architecture in the nation, and the Wickham Farmhouse, a remarkable pre-Revolutionary period structure.

Our grounds also feature the Old Cutchogue Burying Ground, the historic Old Schoolhouse, and the Victorian-era Red Barn, which houses a collection of farming implements, woodworking tools, and Native American artifacts. Each building and artifact tells a story, preserving the legacy of those who shaped our community.

We invite you to discover the rich tapestry of Cutchogue and New Suffolk's history with us. Whether you're interested in early American architecture, local heritage, or simply enjoying the beauty of our park, Cutchogue Village Green offers a unique experience for all. Join us in our efforts to preserve and celebrate the history that makes our community special.

For more information about our programs and events, or to support our preservation efforts, please visit our website or contact us at the Cutchogue-New Suffolk Historical Council. We look forward to welcoming you to Cutchogue Village Green.
