"It's an efficient ferry service, but keep in mind that they don't accept credit cards while boarding. It's best to either arrive well ahead of time or have cash on hand to be able to board the ferry without a hiccup. A bunch of us had to run to an ATM in a nearby bar risking to be left behind."

"I give Sayville Ferry Service a five star review because of all the years I travelled with filled with great memories and fun photos, although my most recent experience is frustrating. I was on a boat coming back to the mainland with a full boat with luggage’s of passengers occupying the back portion of the ferry. I got to the dock around 20 minutes earlier and got on line and thought I was fortunate to be almost at the front of the line. One of the polite young sayville staff took my little luggage and put it at the back of the boat as they were organized. By the time we arrived to sayville there was no way to reach to the back because of all the bags that came afterward. It took almost half an hour to receive my luggage, by the time the shuttle had left. It happened once before which made me miss my train but this time I was prepared to get on an Uber to take me to the train station in time. My little advise is that while the sayville ferry staff are receiving the bags to stack one after the other without any hierarchy, PLEASE FORM A CORRIDOR/AN AISLE so that we can walk in and pick up our luggage’s without any unpleasant experience. Thank you for your brilliant service and friendly attitude through the years."
