"I moved to Oneonta about three years ago. I have been driving to Binghamton for good Jamaican food since then since I have been largely dissatisfied with the more local options. I finally caught The Sugar Beat when they offered some Jamaican food options. As a result, I tried the jerk chicken, beef pattie, and coco bread. I feel SO strongly about how superb the food is that I left a review on DoorDash (how I ordered) and came to Google to give them their flowers, too. The food is top tier. Top. Tier. My favorite thing about the jerk chicken is the heat. Sometimes jerk chicken can be too mild for my liking even with heaps of jerk sauce. Their jerk…the chicken is flavorful, sauce is amazing…and they weren’t shy about applying the sauce. It is just so delicious! I highly recommend. And I suspect that their other options must be just as tasty. I’ll order again and again and stop driving to Binghamton!"

"This bakery consistently produces amazing baked goods! I’ve ordered multiple cakes which are always delicious but most importantly she accommodates my sons food allergies. It’s not easy to find baked goods that are safe for him to eat. We love an appreciate this bakery!"

"Two of us had lunch on a weekday. We were the only customers. The owner is from Guyana and cooks a good Caribbean meal. This is paper napkin and single use plate counter service but a nice culinary option. Call a day ahead to ask for patties."

"I ordered the Valentine’s Day special of strawberries and red velvet cake and was so impressed! Besides being obviously beautiful, every strawberry was top quality. The crunch coated strawberries were unique and ended up being my favorite. The cake was perfect red velvet with a light frosting that wasn’t too sweet."

"I had some of the best oxtail I've ever eaten. They make some of the most exquisite Caribbean food, which is saying a whole lot for this small town. I also had a lovely piece of cake with this order (not pictured), and the buttercream frosting makes your eyes roll back, and the cake itself was moist and yummy. I highly recommend eating here if you get a chance!"
