"Cinnamon babka is to die for...everything else we've tried — cookies, other cakes, brownies, chocolate babka — rather mediocre"

"This was my first time using this bakery. I can't think of words to say how delicious and great my purchases were. I live upstate in Albany where we don't have anything to stand by the quality of Reismans Bakery. I certainly happy I found a bakery that has great baked goods.i certainly be a customer I gave it 5 stars really should be 100"

"I used to be a loyal customer until they hiked up their prices recently. A few years ago, I found out the bakery existed nearby after talking to a few neighbors. Everyone I knew and friends I gave some goodies to loved Reisman's so I've been coming back often! After looking up this bakery location for the first time, I gave them a call to see if I can buy it on the spot since it's close by. The nice lady I spoke with on the phone told me I can just come visit and buy some and they'll be open till 5. I walked over and got a few single black and white jumbo cookies for $1 each. Another trip had me walking out with the boxes of 9 individually wrapped black and whites, and a few boxes of cinnamon babka loaves. The workers have always been very nice and patient with me. I've only ever had cash but don't know if they take card here. However, I recently visited again in the last few months to buy some. I was shocked to find that the jumbo black and white cookies were now $2 each. $1 to $2 is a big jump, especially when you're buying a lot at once! So I left with just 2 cookies that time instead of my usual 2 dozen! My neighbor told me he emailed and called recently to ask for the price of these, and he was told they were $1.20 each. When I went by a few months ago, they told me the same $2 price again! It's such a big jump when I've purchased them for $1 each in the past at the bakery! My neighbor asked for a big box of 15 of the jumbo black and whites but the price comes out more than 15 individual cookies! A case of 15 is cheaper online than this price but why would you pay shipping when you can get it immediately nearby? I don't understand this at all! It's cheaper to buy individual items in the bakery but much cheaper to buy online in bulk. Disappointing for all of us and will be sure to let my neighbors know! Most of us in the neighborhood do our shopping locally and love supporting the long time businesses! We would stop by for the goodies but it's a shame that it's so inconsistently priced and marked up now! I don't think I will be back here with the $2 pricing now. Getting told different prices everywhere by different staff! I can only imagine it becoming much more costly in the future. I will have to look for another place to buy some black and white cookies and babka from in the area. There was another time I got shortchanged too but I let it slide since it was a small amount and it happened only once. So count your change before you leave! Also if you do want to swing by, they close at 5pm Monday through Thursday so if you work 9-5 or later, you won't be able to buy any in person. They close for the weekend at noon on Fridays, so it's been hard to stop by when I have work during the work week. By the way for my elderly and immunocompromised neighbors, no one is masked inside the very small area inside where the door stays closed at all times so it may not be the most careful place for you to go while covid is still happening!"
