"Stumbled upon this place after dinner with my girlfriends and I loved everything about it! Although we didn't have reservations, since it was early they let us in. Highly recommend making reservations if you want to sit and eat. Reservations seem hard to get. The crowd built up pretty fast but the bar keep up the pace with just 2 bartenders. The music was everything! If you love uninterrupted old school R&B and Hip-Hop, this place is for you! It is small but management is not letting the place get super packed where it makes it uncomfortable. Capacity is 75 so get there early!"

"Definitely a vibe. Good music we danced to some 2000’s music. It gets crowded but we made reservations so we had a little section that we could sit down at and eat. We had shots, a few drinks, and food and spent about $80-$100 each. The line for the bathroom does get long but no one goes for the bathroom they go for the party."

"I wish I was coming here to share a more positive experience but unfortunately both times I’ve visited RR have left me with distaste..I used to speak very highly about this spot to friends and family due to the talented DJs and ambiance of the lounge, however on both occasions I was there, I left extremely frustrated and put off by the demeanor and dismissive attitude of the front door attendant, Raquel. I was there with my own reservation early in the evening and coincidentally knew someone with another party of their own that same night. I’ve been here when it was fully packed at the entrance and outside, so I didn’t think it would a big issue for one extra guest to arrive late as most of the party was inside. After politely explaining the situation and asking if an exception can be made this once, Raquel, responded coldly and callously, repeating that the capacity was full although various groups of people were seen exiting. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt when I came back this past weekend as several months ago I came for my birthday, however a different incident but similar outcome with the same attendant. On both occasions, I was met with a lack of empathy and flexibility regarding reservation issues, tarnishing what could have been enjoyable experiences. Despite my loyalty, I'm disappointed by RR's disregard for customer satisfaction and won't be returning."

"I had an amazing time at this speakeasy! My group of 4 had a reservation. I think the expectations are pretty clear- if you expect to walk-in to an exclusive speakeasy, go early; if you're wish to go later, get a resy. People will be turned away if they're at capacity, especially if a big reservation is booked. It doesn't matter if your friends are inside- they have to follow code. The vibe is REALLY fun- it feels like a swanky house party with awesome music and drinks. I think the service was great for how busy it was. I only drank is beers, but my friends had fun cocktails and shots. Everyone is so friendly. They also put a gratuity charge on larger party's bills, so that's helpful. I love speakeasies. Cannot recommend RRLIC enough!"

"The Record Room in LIC is a hidden gem that lives up to the hype. It's a fantastic speakeasy with a cool, intimate vibe, perfect for a date night. The cocktails are creative and delicious – I highly recommend the mezcal options. They also have a great selection of finger foods and the music selection is on point. If you're looking for a unique and stylish bar in LIC, the Record Room is definitely worth checking out."
