"Stopped at Mel's for lunch and some burgers and loved every bite. Pat Lafrieda meat and the burgers were perfectly seasoned and so juicy. Excellent staff and menu choices. My husband had the cheesecake and the bread and everything was very pleasing. We will definitely be back!"

"Visited here for a quick lunch. Got the Mel’s double and fries. The burger came with chips which is good if you didn’t order fries too; the chips were good a crisp (usually not a fan of “house chips”). The double burger was a good size, tender, juicy, and not complicated (fried onions and house made sauce). Side order of fries was pretty big, could have split it with another person if I wasn’t by myself and stuffing my gullet. I’m not in the area very often but I will for sure stop in again to try another burger and cheesesteak. Price wise, the burger was a little expensive but it delivered and the single patty burgers are a little cheaper. The portion of fries for the price was more than I expected. I appreciate this isn’t just another smash burger type place so that was a plus. Parking in this area isn’t great, just park at the Shop Rite and walk about a block and a half to avoid the ridiculous parking Tenafly has in this downtown area."

"Excellent burgers, Great atmosphere, and very hospitable owner! Popped into Mel’s on the recommendation of a few friends, and it did not disappoint! The classic burger is one of the best I have ever had. You won’t find a quality burger like this in NYC or any of these smash burger joints popping up. Also went big with a steak frites and it lived up to it! The atmosphere was clean, hip, and cozy. Extra points for the pinball machine as it was a nice nostalgic touch and (kept my kid occupied). Owner was friendly and hospitable. Came to the table several times to check if everything was to expectation. Beyond impressed as this will be my go To burger joint"
