- The UPMC Emergency Department is not intended for routine COVID-19 testing. It should only be used if you are experiencing severe symptoms such as breathing difficulties.3. Testing Process:
- Obtain a referral from your PCP.
- Visit a UPMC testing site or UPMC Urgent Care for the test.
- Bring your test prescription (if not done online), insurance card, and ID to the test site.4. Test Results:
- Test results are typically available within 24 to 48 hours via the UPMC patient portal.
- If you do not have access to the patient portal, a UPMC provider will contact you with the results.5. Varied Collection Hours:
