"I lived at the Julian for a couple years. It was great when I first moved there and a majority of my stay was pleasant. Pros where the location the windows and the historic building. It was quiet in terms of neighbors and the staff was good. Cons the HVAC is loud due to the style of the apartments. No storage, the gym is a glorified hotel gym, and the leasing office has completely turned over for the worse. There was a resident stealing packages. Also maintenance issues which weren’t an issue originally became a problem. We had to threatened to put our rent into escrow to get something fixed. These or all issues that arose more recently. I would not rent here again due to the direction the place has gone. Myself and most the other long term residence I knew have moved on."

"We love living at The Julian. The units and the entire building have so much character. Casto did a wonderful job renovating this historic building. The staff is always friendly and super responsive. The location is ideal with its proximity to the Scioto Mile, German Village and downtown Columbus. Having a garage is a wonderful benefit too. "Absolutely my best experience with an apartment building/complex in Columbus. The units themselves are so cool and have real character, the management is very on top of things and communicates frequently, and have only had good interactions with other residents. 10/10 would recommend"

"My spouse and I have lived here for the last 2 1/2 years. It's a great building in an awesome downtown location, staffed by incredibly helpful and kind people. The management and staff really go out of their way to make residents feel welcome - there are fairly regular resident appreciation events with food and drink, and the rooftop patio area has become our favorite spot for watching Red White and Boom or just relaxing after work. The building has a lot of character and charm and the light that comes in through our large living room windows is phenomenal. I agree with another reviewer that the HVAC and laundry units can seem a bit loud; I do think this has at least a bit to do with the acoustics that occur with hardwood floors and tall ceilings/lots of flat surfaces. Depending on where I'm at in our unit, our tv can seem at a normal volume from the couch but seem much louder standing in another spot - not a dealbreaker and I definitely don't miss carpet. I think it's great there's a common use laundry room for residents and that (currently) the water bill is factored into the rent; that takes the sting out of doing a few extra loads per week if I just want to use the stackable in our apartment. I don't get to the basement gym nearly enough but it's outfitted with modern, functional equipment and a decent amount of space. We look forward to staying here for quite a while and enjoying all that downtown living, and living at The Julian, has to offer. (Attaching a photo I shot from the rooftop patio)"
