Welcome to Red Run Farms, a family-owned and operated farm nestled in the heart of Mercer, Pennsylvania. Established in May 2019 by Jake and Kate, Red Run Farms has grown from a dream to a thriving farm dedicated to sustainable and responsible farming practices.

Our Story:

Jake, originally from Butler County, and Kate from Somerset County, moved to Mercer in 2019 with a vision to own land and raise cattle. Fast forward to 2024, and the couple, now blessed with five children, continues to pour their hearts into the farm. With the help of family and friends, including Jake’s dad Jon, and friends like Silas and Seth, Red Run Farms operates smoothly and efficiently.

Our Commitment:

At Red Run Farms, we are dedicated to providing the highest quality products while maintaining sustainable and responsible farming practices. Our animals enjoy spacious, clean environments with ample access to fresh air and sunshine. We use natural fertilizers to ensure our crops are healthy and free from harmful chemicals. When you visit Red Run Farms, you’ll see our pasture-grazed cattle and free-range chickens, thriving in their natural habitats.

We offer a wide array of fresh and delicious products, including:

- Free-Range Eggs

- Small Square Hay Bales

- Cut Flower Bouquets

- Raw Honey (from a neighboring farm)

- Fresh-Made Jams and Jellies

Kate takes great pride in producing our jams and jellies, ensuring each jar is made with love and care.

Community Involvement:

We are proud to be an integral part of our local community. We collaborate with other farmers and producers to promote local agriculture and support small businesses. Red Run Farms offers educational workshops for schools and community groups, teaching the importance of farming and sustainable agriculture. Additionally, we donate to local organizations that support our community. Jake serves as a Lieutenant with the Jackson Center Volunteer Fire Co., and both he and Kate are actively involved in local fire department activities.

Market Presence:

Kate showcases our products at various local markets and events, including:

- Briar Brook Barn Farmer’s Market in New Castle, PA (June-September, second Saturday of each month)

- Canon Creamery in West Middlesex, PA

We also have a small table down our driveway offering cosmo bouquets, tomatoes, and peppers for our surrounding community.
