"This particular UPMC Lab Services is located near entrance 2. My primary-care provider had ordered several lab tests, and I visited this lab as a walk-in without an appointment. (Be sure to check their hours.) I registered at a kiosk, and minutes later an employee checked me in at a window. Minutes later, I walked to a different room, and a phlebotomist drew my blood. She easily found my vein, and she spoke nicely to me. Later that day, UPMC posted my test results on their website."
"They kept sticking me with the needle and left my IV bloody during my entire stay in the hospital. They taped my eyes closed and I had a skin reaction to how they pulled it off my face."
"Great registration and lab. Listen folks, your not the only one waiting and the world does not revolve around you. Be patient. The staff that registered me was very friendly. The blood draw was painless and the lab technician was very courteous and professional. The results of the blood draw were the same day. Great service."
"Staff is friendly and helpful. The only problem is the long walk from the main entrance to the lab. It's hard when you're mobility impaired. Sometimes a staff member will push you in a wheelchair."
"I had an appointment at 8:30 and arrived at 8:25. A man was waiting already, and at 8:35, asked one of the women if the wait would be much longer. She said, "You're next." I then asked the man what time his appointment was, and he said he just walked in. If I have an 8:30 appointment, I should be taken before a walk-in customer. Correct? Isn't that why I took the time to make the call two days before? Granted, it was only a 20 minute wait. But what is this lab's policy? I'd like to know so I have that information next time. Is making an appointment a waste of time?"
