About the Business

Kennedy Eye Center

At Kennedy Eye Center, we believe that helping people see better creates happiness! Located conveniently in Akron, Ohio, our center offers comprehensive vision care for the entire family. We are a Premier Provider for VSP Vision Plan and an EyeMed Vision Care provider. For a full list of the medical and vision plans we accept, please visit our Insurance page.

Our dedicated team of professionals is excellent with children and highly recommends a comprehensive eye exam between the ages of 4 and 6, at least every two years. Early diagnosis is crucial, as children are often more responsive to treatment when problems are caught early in their lifetime.

For patients with eye disorders such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, or cataracts, we advise seeing a doctor at least every 6 months to 1 year to manage and monitor their condition effectively.

"Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. They answered questions clearly and fully. All was done efficiently but not so fast we felt like we were being shuffled out the door. We were not pressured into anything. It was a pleasant experience."

"Extremely pleased and highly recommended. This was my first visit at the practice. Everyone is exceptionally pleasant. The visit was emergent. The Streetsboro branch was fully booked and the receptionist was able to schedule me at this sister location. Dr. Jones and Reagan were thorough, patient and explanatory. Continued prayers for the Schmidt family. Thank you everyone for making my 1st experience memorable and enabling me an alternative for future appointments."

"Two years ago I was at Kennedy Eye Center to pick up my new eyeglasses. My eye exam was rather complicated, as I had recently had cataract surgery, and Dr. Potter needed to consult with the surgeon about a few things. Today I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Dr. Alex Jones. I had been “warned” that he is well-liked by the patients. Indeed, I found him polite, personable, opened to my questions, and professional. He explained some details about my eye drops that I had never heard before. Above all, Dr. Jones agreed with one of my other eye doctors that I don’t need to buy new eyeglasses, since my eyesight hasn’t changed much. I appreciated his honesty and especially that purchasing new eyewear is not necessary at this time."
