"Dr. Mussett performed a bunionectomy on my left foot, in 2015. After the surgery, I had immense pain - burning, shooting, aching which woke me in the night, stabbing, every type of pain imaginable. The first two small toes of both my feet are webbed, yet he penetrated the first of these with his steel prod and, I swear, damaged a nerve; when there is webbing, the normal nerve pathways and tissue distribution is bound to be compromised, and he should have taken that into consideration when he chose his surgical procedure. Six to seven years hence, the numbness in my big toe which has been there post-operatively has progressed to those smaller toes, and I fear permanent or progressing nerve damage. Finally, this doctor reprimanded me for complaining about the pain and for challenging him, insisting that he had performed "thousands of these" surgeries and knew what he was doing. I offer this review, several years hence, so that prospective patients know the potential for ongoing problems, years later. He'd said to me "if you want PT, I will write you a script for PT", as if there was nothing else that could or should be done."

"I was referred to Brian Mussett by a traveling nurse in Erie. Over the weekend, I was unable to walk and tremendous foot pain due to Tailor Bunion on the outside of my right foot. I called 1st thing Monday morning and they squeezed me in that afternoon. "My mother is 70 years old with osteoporosis and had surgery on her heel to remove a spur. She has been immobile, non-weight bearing for 6 weeks for a simple procedure. When asking about physical therapy considering her age and condition, the doctor said it was not necessary. I have multiple friends who are physical therapists and are completely dumbfounded when she asked about physical therapy and he said no. I would not recommend this doctor to anyone.
