Big Bear Campground & RV Park

"We stayed there for the winter 2023 before leaving to go to the lower 48. Their website stated 700 for the month plus electricity. When we went to reserve our spot they raised it to 950 a month not including electric. Fine we dealt with it. We were not allowed to use the showers since we had water hookup. But the maintenance person and whom ever visited was allowed to. The laundry facility stated it was closed for cleaning 12-2 daily . The laundry room garbage was always over flowing at that time there was only 5 campers there. They were allowing people from outside the park to do laundry there. If it snowed nothing was plowed for a couple days and then you had to re dig yourself out because they would plow you back in. Also I always had to shovel out the entrance door just to do laundry. They would never answer the phone and they definitely do not have 24 hour maintenance. The dryers some how turned a lot of clothes black speckled grease all over so very frustrating. This was the worst experience for my family. Also NO military discount at all . Hopefully my review was helpful I was informed by another person camping for the winter this was his worst experience. O they also have a $50 clean up fee for pet owners but there was so much dog poop all over from the maintenance guys dog who freely went everywhere. We also got to witness them chasing a mother moose and her baby out of the park that were eating and then started throwing things at them. Which is highly against the law. Stayers beware just because it says KOA does not mean it is clean."

"We stayed here recently on our trip to Alaska. The location, restrooms, hookups and rv sites were really good. No complaints there. My only complaint is the wifi service. They can do better with the wifi service. All of us were working and we have to rely on our mobile Hotspot. When we booked this place we saw that there was internet service provided. But after that when we reached the location the pamplet said they cannot guarantee reliable wifi. Otherwise this is a very good rv park. I would have given 5 stars if not for the wifi."

"We have stayed at this campground three or four times now and it has been consistently fantastic every time. The facilities are always clean and so are the grounds. The ambiance you get from the common area in the middle is fantastic. I will always recommend Big Bear."

"This place is a bit far from Anchorage, but it is clean and in good location. There is nothing between camping spots to create privacy. The bathrooms are closed from 12pm to 2pm for cleaning. The bathrooms are clean. One out of two paper towels dispeners was broken, and two soap dispensers out of 3 were working. There are three showers and three toilet stalls. One of the toilet stalls latch was not working and the sink on that one was supported by metal supports, with a warning note :do not lean on the sink.Little maintenance will sort these out. Lots of little notes left to customers all over the facilities. Little problem with the ventilation (?) As the humidity was almost unbearable when people took showers."

"We had a good quick stay. This is the first RV park we have been to that had a gazebo for gathering and a playground for kids. Shower facilities were free for guests and appeared clean, however we didn't use them. They have a laundry for $3.50. The little store at checkin has some cute items. Office is open until 9am. We did wake up to small aircraft flying overhead."
