"Dr. Benson was my parent's doctor. He cared for both of them for many years as if they were his own parents. He always worked with me to keep me informed. I remember when my dad was in the hospital and we missed each other, I would write him a note with my questions. The next time I stopped by Dr. Benson had left answers to all my questions. He actually kept my mom healthy and alive until she passed at age 89, working with rehab and the hospital to keep her going....as her mind was alert. I will be forever grateful for his direct communication and honest care."

"Worst bed side manners we call him dr death, he told my grandmother she needed treatment for her asthma and allergies, pumped her full of steroids caused seizures and possible stroke, we found out Benson mis-diagnosed her & she actually had an upper respiratory infection meaning steroids was the worst possible treatment, she spent about 3 & 1/2 months at WNJ and 1/2 that time in icu. Bottom line Benson wanted to let her die said their was nothing more he could do. (We also noticed all the other family's gathered in multiple icu rooms preparing to say goodbye to their loved ones because there's nothing more Benson could do) we asked him if he could recommend anyone else that could help her, we weren't giving up. Benson says "If I can't help her nobody can"...WHAT??? Can we say GOD COMPLEX. We decide to transfer her to medical city Plano pretty much on her death bed after being told there's nothing anyone can do if Benson can't fix it. We still thought we were going to loose her several times and despite having to be on a waiting list for a room at med city bc their so busy we had a team of 10 doctors who specialized in their own field all working together to save her and it worked she's finally home now after 6 long months. She is crippled can't walk and has permanent brain damage. I would strongly advise against Dr Benson he might have been good in his earlier years but he is too old and spreading himself way to thin taking on so many patients. You will hear how wonderful Benson is and he is just very thorough but who tries to keep an 80 year old in the hospital for 3 months she was healthy took thyroid allergy and asthma pills walked in on her own 2 feet then nearly died and is now crippled and brain damaged, we only stuck it out so long bc of how many people told us he was the best. Don't trust them he is dr death."
