Gateway Diagnostic Imaging Sherman

"Unacceptable communication! They scheduled an appointment for me a week in advanced only to be called the day before the appointment saying “oh yeah, actually the doctor is out on vacation, sorry about that” causing me to wait till new year and pay my deductible from scratch! Also, TERRIBLE communication about billing! In my multiple phone calls I constantly asked about what the total cost will be (I already provided my insurance and the cost was part of my decision to proceed) They said they need to schedule it first to give the amount. Once scheduled they said it will cost $X amount on a call. On the day of the appointment they said I owed said $X amount, I paid in full, and NOT ONCE did they tell me in any of our conversations that the amount given was an ESTIMATE! (This is my first time dealing with a medical facility but that is irrelevant) Only now looking back at the receipt they had me sign there is a blurb about it being an estimate. I walked out under the impression from the staff that it was one and done, then a week later I get a message saying I owe an additional +$368! The staff was friendly but they lack communicating VERY CRITICAL information for the livelihood of customers and can’t seem to look at a calendar to see if a doctor is on vacation before scheduling your appointment ! Definitely felt swindled in my entire experience with them!"

"I do not recommend Gateway Diagnostic Imaging in Sherman TX. I had an appointment for a CT Scan on a Friday. My Dr. ordered the scan a week prior. Upon arriving for my appointment, I was told they would not do the scan due to notation on my medical record. I cleared up the issue with my Dr. and they still refused to do the scan. I rescheduled to the following Wednesday so my Dr. would have time to update the medical records. I confirmed with the main appointment center it had been updated but the local Sherman office still refused and stated I would have to pre-medicate for the procedure even though my Dr. did not recommend I do this because of my condition (in addition I have had many scans prior without any issues). I spoke with my Dr. and we put a plan in place to accommodate Gateway's policy so I could have the procedure done. At 4:45 pm the day before my procedure, they called and tried to reschedule me as they have no technician. Now I am leaving out of town for a week without having my procedure done and not being able to capture the cost on my 2023 year end. This place is completely inconsiderate of a person's time and Dr.'s wishes and orders. Please find a different imaging center to work with. I would suggest Touchstone in McKinney as they have done this same scan on me for the past 7 years. I was hopeful I could find an imagining center in Sherman that could facilitate my needs, but I will be driving to McKinney from here on."

"I had a really great experience at Gateway Diagnostic. I was sent from McKinney to have an ultrasound and an X-ray after surgery. The waiting room was bright and clean, and they had plenty of seats. The front desk staff were all nice. I spoke with several of them during my time there. The techs in the back were able to get to me very quickly. I arrived for my appointment on time and waited less than 10 minutes to be called. The exams were quick, and they explained everything as they were doing them. I waited to get a copy of my tests on a CD. They made the disc super quickly."

"This facility got me in within 36 hours of my doctor recommending them and sending a referral. I was impressed with that and then when I visited I was extremely impressed by the staff and that everything was so neat and orderly. Gateway will always be my selection, if I have a choice."

"They were able to book my appointment in a very reasonable time. Was able to electronically fill out paperwork ahead of time. They kept me informed about appointment & requirements prior to visit. Didn’t wait very long in waiting room before name was called for procedure."
