"I had a surgery here with Ryan Empey. He is a great doctor, and this is not his fault. The billing department is a nightmare. I had surgery approved on May 19th through my insurance and they told the hospital that there was no prior authorization required on anything. Had the surgery on June 1st. October 31st rolled around and I received a bill for $1,365. Confused, I called and spoke with Lisa Gay. She told me that my insurance denied the anesthesiologist bill and told me to call my insurance. She sent the document where my insurance said everything had been approved. I call my insurance and they tell me that there has been a mix-up and to have them charge the bill again. I called back and Lisa told me that they do not accept my insurance. I know that is completely false because all of my other bills through them were completely covered by insurance without a problem. I had two previous appointments with Dr Empy before my operation, and a follow-up after. Everything was fine. I told her I was never notified and that they didn't accept my insurance. She said she would speak with a manager and get back to me. I called a few times in both November and December and there's no follow-up or solution. January rolls around and I had a family member start to have severe medical issues. I forget to call because of this. (Still, no follow-up) February comes and that family member passes away. I admit I did not call because of the situation. However, I tried to get this resolved in November and December. I am now getting phone calls from debt collectors. This entire situation violates the No Surprises Act. My insurance should be covering this and they are refusing to bill my insurance again after a mix-up. This needs to be fixed."

"My daughter came into the ER with horrible neck pain. The person we saw twisted her around in a very cruel way. He said he had to do it in order to examine her problem. The careful way that the nurses moved her to X-ray made me see that he was being mean, bordering on abusive. This is the worst of the many negative experiences that have had at Lakeview. In the future, I will only go there if I have such a life threatening injury that I have no choice."

"I had my baby here 3 weeks ago. It was the worst experience I ever had. I had my last 2 babies here no problems. This time I came in I was there for an hour with contractions the first nurse checked me she was super gentle I didn't feel anything. A 2nd nurse came in with 20+ years experience said she needed to check me. It was so painful & it hurt so bad. I just cried in pain. She said I was 3 cm & she finally admitted. I didn't even know I wasn't admitted. I was there for an hour. As time went on she kept checking me. When I got to 5 cm she asked me if I wanted an epidural. I said yes because I had it the last 2 times & I almost passed out so I really wanted to do it this time as well. so I can be up for the whole process. Well the guy who did the epidural was super nice but it stopped working 3 & half hours before I delivered my baby. So I felt everything; my Tail bone hurt so bad with every contraction I had. Apparently my husband said with every contraction I had after me screaming bloody murder. My eyes would rolled back into my head & I passed out everytime until he finally came out. When he was coming out I felt so rushed by the nurses & obgyn to push him out. I barely got to hold him & nurse took him away to I quote "get him cleaned up". Right after he came out I felt like my placenta was ripped out of me & forced out too fast. I seen the nurse taking blood from the placenta cord which I thought was wired because they didnt do that with my other 2 placentas when I delivered my other kids. Then the nurse told me he wasn't getting enough oxygen so they took him to the NICU. He spent 5 days there & it was such a horrible experience. After they took him I was moved to another room. The nurses kept coming in asking me why my baby was so big for a premature baby. Asked If I was taking any drugs or antibiotics while pregnant. I told them no that I was only taking the UTI pills that the Obgyn prescribed me. I didn't even take it that long like my last pregnancy I took it the whole entire pregnancy & had no problems. If it was gods will for him to be so big than so be it. Than they had a social work come talk to me. I never had a social work ever come to be before for my last 2 babies. She asked me why too; I told her I have no idea I never done drugs & they are welcome to test me all they want. Than she told me that I should get financial help & get on wic & get government help. I told her that I would never do that & never put myself so low or put my kids through that. I felt so belittled & looked down like as if I was a druggy. After that she backed off & left. Than at night I had to pee so bad & ask the nurse to help me to the bathroom. She let go of me to grab something & yes I turn & my knee unlocks & I fall in the bathroom. I ended up with a bruise on my knee & still hurts but she apologized to me & because she was nice to me I brushed it off. So less than 24hrs after delivering my baby(at 5pm). That next morning @ 4am I get told I can go home. I'm so confused to why I get told to go home. Though my husband had to go to work that day & I have a 1 yr old & 2 yr old at home. So i only agreed to it so my husband wont get fired after starting this new job. Worst mistake. I felt so heart broken & sad & cried I had to leave my baby there in the NICU. I never had to leave my other babies there nor had I ever been sent home so early. So I get there the next day & i felt so belittled & looked down by the nurses who were watching my baby. They were watching me so hard. I felt like they where breathing down my neck. As I feed my baby & burped him. They treated me like I was a new mom. Telling me my baby was so gassy. I tried to tell Them that all my children are gassy because their father is a gassy person. They kept talking over me wouldn't let me get a word in. The next day I come back with my mom & I feed my baby ^ burp him. To be continued..."

"My elderly mother has been in ER and admitted to hospital for infection. No continuity from change of staff. And with this bladder infection, we found out there has been no IV when my brother made it there to visit (I’m out of state). My mother’s condition worsened in the hospital because there was no attention to hydration. Collapsed on the toilet. 3 nurses were trying to stabilize her…. after 24 hour hospital stay of no IV. Oh, and us children asked that the records be shared with her PCP. They said “the PCP needs to request it.” We can’t loop in the PCP. No help. Awful care. I’m aghast that there are high ratings. And they almost discharged her yesterday! Our whole family is shocked."
