Copper Mountain Middle School

"My child used to play on a team here and sadly if he were out of bounds he would either slam into a wall or fall into the stands ( or even fall into the leather boundary between courts and hit who was on the other side of the barrier and make them fall over and land on their face which would be really painful, especially because it's a polished wood floor). One of his teammates flew into an old lady (she was fine). And a basketball hit a toddler (he cried). So they should be ashamed of how they designed the court because some day a person(s) will get really hurt and the school district would get sued. On the other hand they need to get older and more mature refs. They are too interested in Facebook instead of the game."

"Wow, kids really troll their schools its sad! As a parent, I'll say my son has had a great experience here and the teachers have been caring, communicative, and helpful. Mr. Davis is about the most amazing Band Director I've ever seen! He spent his summer with the High school Marching band program as well as his early mornings to create a middle school Jazz program. He is not alone in a great staff but I wanted to single him out as a stellar educator. Thanks!"

"So far I am enjoying this school. I am new and I feel welcomed, I enjoy the school lunch, It's far better than my old school. My only regret is the bus pass. I had to sit in the grass for 30 minutes everyday for 2 weeks for mine, at least I can take the bus home now. I don't know if it's better than my old school though... I guess I will have to wait until the end of the school year"

"It is sad to see some of the negative reviews of Copper Mountain Middle. No school is perfect but my daughter has attended since it opened and I have served on the school community council each year. I have found the administrators and majority of the staff to be very professional and dedicated to educating our students. This does not in any way negate those that have had a negative experience. No one school is a perfect fit for everyone and like I said before, no school is perfect. But at this school, though the expectations of the students is high, I have never found the teachers or administrators to be unwilling to listen and work with us when a problem arises. Some problems are not an easy fix and its easy to blame others when things don't go the way you want. But I have firsthand experience with teachers who care a tremendous amount about our kids and administrators who work hard each and every day."

"I am highly disappointed in this school. I was a student here for two miserable years. I went to Copper mountain for their first and second year of opening and it was extremely unorganized. The staff had no idea what they were doing, were very controlling, and overall rude. The principles will pick on you for anything they can. They constantly were calling students into their offices, wasting time out of our day, and theirs for unreasonable things. The were selective in who they got in trouble and gave some kids extra treatment for prejudice and biased reasons. They were focused on irrational and unimportant things rather than matters that needed attention. Teachers were rude and uneducated. They weren't willing to give any extra support or help and were very degrading. Overall, Copper Mountain was very unethical, unprofessional, and is not focused on education."
