"I don't write reviews, especially bad ones but I waited over 2 years for a hat "custom" hat order that never came. I never had customer service reach out once, I had to do all follow up to find out any status updates. I ordered a simple American Hat Co 40x natural in 7 and 3/8 size. Billys blamed supply issues from American Hat Co. Fine. Then told me to reach out to American Hat Co. Fine. I moved and asked for my address to be updated. Billys said it was handled. While currently attempting to obtain a refund this week, Billy's advised that even though they had said they had changed the address on file, they had not. Billys informed me that American Hat Co had increased the price by about $200 from my original order price and they had to pay that. Disappointing that American Hat Co was doing that but not my problem, as I placed my order over 2 years ago. Then the issue suddenly was they had received my hat but it was damaged and had to be sent back. I never heard from Billy's without reaching out. I've never been offered a refund, I had to ask for it. The refund was supposedly issued but I won't hold my breath. I won't be supporting Billy's or American Hat Co."
"Way over-rated & over priced…with an attitude. I purchased an American Hat Co. straw hat in Jan. 2023 for $200. Upon receiving the hat, I was quite disappointed. To begin, upon inspection, the first thing I noticed was the very low quality. The hat was very light, almost like paper which appeared very flimsy and weak. Upon further inspection I noticed the vent holes completely covered with lacquer, not allowing ANY ventilation. I thought this was very tacky and unprofessional. Overall, I did not find the quality of this hat acceptable at all. For $200 the quality of this hat was terrible! I wrote to the company and got a reply back from Marche House, Office Manager/Customer Service Manager insisting that American Hat is the best quality, double lacquered, double pressed, triple inspected ..blahh, blahh. To me this company is WAY overrated and overpriced."
