"My kids and I love this school, the community at this school is Awesome! My oldest started here in kindergarten and he just graduated high school. My youngest just graduated his last year here. I could continue on and on about this place, the staff is wonderful, the volunteers and the teachers are the best."

"If I could rate this school a 0 I would . My daughter transferred to this school from California and has only been here one week . She is bullied by all the little girls and She has come home from school crying every one of those days . I volunteered to help the class and it is is like a circus . The kids are everywhere and do not listen but that is the teachers place to enforce rules and take action . I am very dissapointed and switching her to a school where the students are under more supervision . Seems like they let kids run the show at this school ."

"At first I wasn't so sure about this school, but as The school year has gone on, the school has really taken steps to make sure the kids are looked after better, especially in the mornings which was a concern of mine as well. Hope this will continue next school year."

"My son attends kindergarten at East Midvale Elementary. I have read the previous negative reviews and my experience has been nothing but positive. On the morning supervision, drop off time is after 8:00AM. Earlier than that and there may not be teachers out front, but you are not suppose to drop your kids off before 8:00AM, I understand that sometimes there may be a need to drop off a little early, but that is the schedule that they have asked parents to adhere to. I feel like the school goes above and beyond to offer opportunities for parental and community involvement. Mr. Pitcher, the principal, took the time to sit with my husband and I when he saw us waiting for some assistance from the office staff at the beginning of the school year just to say hello and spend a few minutes getting to know us. He is often outside helping with traffic control during drop/off and pickup times and remembers who you are and takes the time to say hello. The office staff is professional and friendly and when I have been in the office, I notice they treat the kids with respect. We had to meet with the school nurse regarding a peanut allergy for my son and I felt completely at ease after meeting with her. When issues arise, such as traffic congestion on the drop-off and pick-up times, they do the best they can to address the situation. This year, the school made some changes to the drop-off and pick-up routine. This school was probably built in the 70's, when kids walked to school, so routing of cars during drop-off and pick-up was not such an issue, but they have done they best they can with the facilities they have to make sure that kids are safe and the process is as easy as possible. My son loves his teacher and has made amazing progress this year. While I realize that not everyone's experiences are the same. I could not be happier with how his kindergarten year has gone."

"Unfortunately, my grandsons first year here. My daughter left a message for the principal that has not yet been returned. No supervision outside in the morning for children!! Anyone can walk up and take your child, children fighting on a regular basis. Schools are not there to babysit, however, when your child is on school property it is their responsibility to keep them safe!"
