Kind and informative. Good customer service is so hard to find now days,.you have to call it out when you do see it."

"This insurance provider, probably like every other provider, exists to stand between patients and healthcare. Their number one priority is to make a profit and they will use ANY excuse to deny your claim. It doesn't matter to them what your doctor says. It doesn't matter what you say, they won't care, they won't listen as long as there is even the slightest hint in their list of rules that they could use to deny your claim and leave you with thousands in medical bills, they will. Do not buy medical insurance from BCBSKS"

"If i could give 0 stars, I would. After my mother tested positive for breast cancer, and myself expierencing a rare cancer from a mutated gene an extensive family history taken by a genetic specialsist determined i needed genetic testing to ensure that I didnt possess any other genes as besides my mother and her parents having cancer, every female besides one of my fathers side has cancer as well. a month and 3 days after they preformed this test they declined it and stated that they didnt have medical records after numerous back and forth trying to get my mother and the lab authorized to speak with them as i do hold the same work hours as their customer service and can not sit on hold for hours for them to answer. (my mother is also the policy holder and they couldnt speak to her) after they finally accepted to speak with the lab, a 2 week wait time was needed to appeal their decission which came back today stating that i didnt meet criteria which came down to not having breast cancer or pancreatic cancer. ANYBODY NEEDING GENETIC CANCER TESTING DO. NOT. USE. THIS. COMPANY. We are now THREE MONTHS since the blood test was performed and have gotten nowhere. I have instructed my doctor to just do the test for the gene that my mother has tested for, and if this takes another 3 months to get them to approve it, all faith in health insurance will be gone. RIDICULOUS."

"I have talked to multiple individuals trying to get a $1300 claim to go through and nothing has happened for months. I have now been threatened to be sent to collections because I have a bill shown as unpaid even though I have reassured multiple times I do not owe anything. The custom service agents have been nice but nothing has changed at all. They also need an easier way of communicating as an hour phone call each time makes things even more difficult."

"All the reps I’ve spoken with have been very nice. That being said, as a provider this is the most incompetent company I’ve ever dealt with. For months I tried submitting claims as an out of network provider yet they were kicked back as if BCBSKC didn’t even recognize my NPI or license. They said I needed to apply for networking status in order to make it into their system, but i had previously applied twice so my info should have been in there. They also tried to tell me that they didn’t receive the most recent application, but their system automatically sends a letter of receipt so i had that as proof, thank goodness. Finally a year later, I was notified that I was accepted as an in-network provider, I didn’t hear anything for months, no one answered emails, when I called no one could figure out what was happening. The initial email said you’ll be getting another email with additional info. That never happened. That was Jan, 2022. In June 2022 I finally got through an inquiry and was told in-network status was denied due to no need for my specialty. I also am not receiving ERA’s or electronic EOB’s so I can see how patients claims are processing. When I called I was told those are only sent to the patient. As a practitioner I’m legally obligated to keep those, so not sure why I can’t see my own medical office’s claims. I was given no other direction. Working with BCBS in Illinois was always so easy. I sang their praises and often encouraged patients toward their policies. Just really disappointed in the excessive problems and misinformation."
