"The store in Skokie has been consistent with good, hot food. We have tried just about everything in this restaurant and it has all been good. Fun that rainbow cone is connected to them in same store space."

"This review is for Rainbow Cone, inside this Buona location, although we like Buona Sandwiches too so great spot to get both! Our first Rainbow Cone and it was really good! Flavors are good and pair well with each other. Service was nice and quick. 9/01/23 still good!"

"They beef is moist and aromatic, they can do gluten free bread for sandwiches and gluten free crust for pizza."

"Italian beef at Buona is a quality sandwich. However, it is a version of Italian beef that is too clean compared to traditional classic ones from Al’s and Ricobene’s. It needs to be dipped longer and messy to eat. Having said, unless one is willing to make a trip down to Taylor or 31st Street, Buona’s hits the spot. As for other items, hot dogs and pasta are mediocre. Rainbow ice cream is a gimmick - each flavor individually is good but altogether, it is not. Finally, what makes the entire experience so unappetizing is the service. My to-go bag was ready but sat on the counter unattended for good 10 minutes before someone realized I was standing there for 20 minutes. Staff there walk around the semi-open kitchen as though they’re busy even when the restaurant has no one else in it."

"We came in to try their plant-based Italian beef-less sandwich but was pleasantly surprised to see that rainbow cone ice cream was also sold here. The sandwich was OK, just a tad too salty for me though. However, I did enjoy their vegan minestrone soup. And since it was in the 90’s and humid, we didn’t leave without an order of rainbow cone ice cream!"
