"Food quality is important and I think they missed the mark. We came during restaurant week and ordered a steak dinner set. That steak was small and thin. The worst part our table had 3 steak dinner set ordered and mine was noticeably smaller. They have same menu every year for restaurant week and last time I came it had decent size steak. Unfortunately the veggies came with steak was also burnt and drench in some sauce."

"I don't give out 5 stars lightly! Incredible food, service, and atmosphere at Roka Akor. Bryan was a phenomenal server and even made our crazy way of ordering seem like no big deal. Loved this spot. Certainly returning on my next trip to Old Orchard."

"Great service and great food quality. We've been here several times and are happy with all the dishes we had. Lamb Cutlets, Prime Skirt Steak, scallops, and beef kimchi dumplings are great."

"All we ordered are very tasty! It was the Restaurant Week Chicago event. $59 per person plus $25 wine pairing. Wine though are not too impressived. Maybe they can do better next time. It's worth the money to try on menu choices. Highly recommended from appetizers to dessert! We got the sirloin medium cooked, the best! The espresso Martini complimented our dessert choices. Will come back to try more!"

"This place is beyond amazing!!! I spent several days looking for a restaurant that offers a Japanese tasting menu and Roka Akor was a winner among other restaurants (with a Michelin star!!). I brought my boyfriend here to spend his birthday and every second was a 5-star experience. We took a Decadent omakase, it’s premium selection tasting menu(be aware that it has to be at least 2 people to take omakase, and you can’t take one Signature and one Decadent, it has to be both this or this). It consists of 5 courses, and you will be FULL. You won’t leave hungry. We thought it’s gonna take at least 15min wait till 1st dish, but they brought us the 1st course 3-4minutes after we placed an order. Our server explained us what we are going to eat and answered all our questions. After we finished the 1st course they took the plate right away and brought us the 2nd course and so on. We didn’t feel like we are being rushed like I read in other comments, I mean, you want to eat warm food right after it was prepared, right? I will include some pictures of the food. Also, I included in the reservation note that my boyfriend has a birthday and we got our 5th course (which is dessert) with a candle and happy birthday wish! Yes, it’s pricey, but you’re paying for the experience and rare selection food. Totally worth it. We had 2 non-alcoholic drinks, 1 alcoholic, 2 decadent omakase. Total was 350(with tax) + 50$ tips. This is for 2 people. Overall - one of the best places I’ve ever been to. Will come back again. Thank you, Roka!"
