Carriage Hill Apartments

"I have had a terrible renting experience at this apartment complex. I have lived here for almost 2 years, and it truly seems like your experience here will be fine as long as there are no issues with your unit (which is unlikely, given that it is a 60 year old building). Within the first two months of this year, my unit lost heat almost 7 separate occasions, two of those times being issues with the boiler and so we didn't have any warm water for days at a time (or running water...this happened several times last year too). After multiple requests to get our heating fixed, we finally had someone come look at it, only for it to break days later each time someone came and 'fixed' it. For the times that someone did come to look at it, we had a few instances of Maintenance entering my unit without letting me know first, despite all of my requests saying that they could not enter without calling first; they didn't even let me know that they were there once they left, I only found out because I happened to have a security camera. The common areas are littered with cigarette butts, trash, and dog feces, and the trashcans are continuously flooded with furniture that just sits in the parking lot for weeks at a time. Right now, there are only two working washers and three somewhat-functioning dryers between two buildings of 18 units each, that have been working on and off since last year. The prices that are charged for rent are not worth the quality of living at this complex, and I can never seem to get into contact with anyone from the leasing or maintenance office. There are several parts of these buildings that have structural damage due to various things, and very little is done to ensure the safety of the residents. Although this complex may seem cheaper than some alternatives, it is temporary; I planned on renewing my lease at the end of the contract because the rent was so low, and 50 days before lease renewal (i.e., past the 60-day time period I would have been required to notify them that I was not renewing my lease), I found a paper on my door informing me that my rent was going to increase by $200. I am only taking the time to write this review because I could not get into contact with the leasing manager for MONTHS to discuss the abysmal quality of living within my unit, and was even asked by one of the employees in the leasing office to longer attempt to contact the manager directly."

"I want to say the manager, Laruen, is professionally capable and knowledgeable. We are so appreciative of her prompt efforts to help our sister recently. She was quickly responsive and used computer technology which we did not have. She also made us feel welcomed even though she was busy with three other customers. She had a firm handshake and looked us in the eye. Thank you Lauren. We know our sister will be a great part of your community and she loves it there."

"I’ve been living at carriage hill for 2 years I wanted to show appreciation to Jeff in the maintenance staff. He’s very polite, considerate, and friendly. Always addresses concerns, repairs, and completes your work order in a timely manner."

"I searched the internet for months before I choose one. I came here and liked the price and so what of the updates are on the cheap side. I have a nice home that I can afford it's spacious and the Jessica McGee did a awesome job to make sure I was satisfied and all the other office staff were kind and have done everything in a professional manner. "The worst complex to live in. Unorganized office. CONSTANTLY losing paperwork. The pool and hot tub NEVER work. The are always shutting the water off without giving any notice. I have had the water shut off on me while I was in the shower about 3 times. The "new" washers and dryers do not work. This complex is ridiculous and definitely not worth the price. DO NOT RENT/LIVE HERE!!"
