"So I've given these guys tons of business buying firewood over the years and sending other people their way. I called today and John was so incredibly rude on the phone that I will definitely be taking my future business elsewhere. I asked a simple question and he kept speaking rudely to me and then hung up. What the heck. I guess they get so much business that they don't need to offer good customer service for returning customers. Bye."

"I don't understand all the people having difficulty buying firewood here. I pulled up to the office, said I wanted some firewood, they asked how much firewood I wanted, I told them, they told me the price, I gave them money, they handed me a pair of work gloves because I'd forgotten mine, I loaded up the firewood, and went home. Pretty straight forward. It's wood. It burned. I'm happy."

"Colorado Wood and Metal is an amazing place. It's a little hard to find but definitely worth the effort. The owner, Scott Meininger is a prince of fellow. Very accommodating and extremely knowledgeable when it comes to dealing with artists like myself. I brought him an art project that I have been working on for months. His expert staff got right on it and consulted with me every step of the way. I thought it needed to be planed but they advised me that I would get better results if I had them sand it instead. I'm glad I did. It turned out fantastic."

"One of the strangest attempted business transactions of my life. Brought my truck, offered him cash for 1/2 cord of firewood. He said no, suggesting that he’d have to divert his employees to help me. I said “no, I just want to hand you cash and I’ll load my own truck.” He said fine, $200 for a half cord. I asked him how much a full cord costs, he said $190. As I walked out, he said “I hate selling firewood.” Which is odd, because he has a giant mountain of firewood for sale....Either his business is going so well that he doesn’t need money, or he’s losing his mind."

"It’s not worth the effort to buy firewood. One time this winter they didn’t want to stack it so they tried to sell me scraps. Today, they just wouldn’t sell me firewood. Said they were busy, I offered to stack it myself, then they said they didn’t have any (they have enormous piles of wood), then they said come back next week(after the storm). I told them I would never come back for anything. What’s the point of offering items for sale if you’re too lazy to actually sell it. I advise you to get your firewood elsewhere. Oh, and the old guy was a complete jerk. The young guy was nice but he couldn’t do anything."
