"I've been practicing at Kiryu Aikido since 2006 and it's been without question a great experience. Our teacher, Andrew Blevins Sensei, is an amazingly talented Aikidoist as well as a gifted teacher. We practice strong, traditional Aikido, and emphasize the importance of ukemi (learning to roll and fall to protect oneself). Instead of having separate beginner classes, new students are integrated into regular classes at a slower pace, and I soon saw the benefit of this when I started as a complete newby. Everyone is welcome to come enjoy our strong, safe Aikido practice. Choosing Kiryu Aikido as my dojo and Blevins Sensei as my teacher are the best decisions I ever made."
