Vikan Middle School 879 Jessup Street, Brighton, CO 80601

"So I am a mother of an 8th grade student that attends Vikan Middle School and I am so angry with the way my daughters 3 years are ending there. My daughter has applied herself more this year then all 3 of the years put together and although she struggled she gave it her all and now she was told today that not only can she not participate in the elitches field trip (which I totally understand) but she was told because she had 3 D's that she wasn't aware of until this week which made it to late to do anything about. That she would also not be participating in the continuation with the rest of her 8th grade class! I am so angry and how humiliating for a 14 year old child to have to endure in such a critical and impressionable time in her life! I don't know where to go from here. I think I am going to email the superintendent of 27j school district because this is wrong for any of our children to deal with! All I'm saying is that she is continuing on to the 9th grade so why would she be ineligible to participate in her continuation. Am I overreacting?"

"Had 2 nephews excel here... had 4 nieces struggle.... staff seems to care and are friendly, not sure if it's a peer problem or the fact the staff is limited and too much is on each teachers plate for just 1 teacher... better than the other Brighton middle school option"

"My friend goes to Vikan and says the staff are so nice and listen to her when she has a problem. There are,very nice teachers that help her and go her speed of learning. The food is amazing!! That's all I can say. I went this year and everyone was so friendly!"

"This school is very one sided especially with the way they handle students problems. They only want to hear one side of the story and see what the person who came to them has to show or say. Even if they did the same thing as you they do not care. I don't recommend this school to anyone in this district"

"Vikan is the worst school I the world they made my 11 year walk home alone when she told them she didn't know the way back my daughter was being physically bullied and they didn't tell the the bully anything but try not to "PLAY" so rough this continued until I transfered her to a different school she had this boy who followed hr into the bathroom and tried to peek in h stall until sh opened the door and slammed his face this is my sons account by the way"
