"We used this clinic for our last dog. She passed 2 years ago. . We have a new puppy now ,and I have left 2 messages with no return call. There is no reason for them not to have a live person answer the phone. What if you had a real emergency. Well, it's time to find a new vet."
"Idk what happened because I have taken my dog to this clinic for almost 6 years and things were okay, but recently I moved all my animals to a new clinic because of how this clinic has treated me over the last several months. I have made appointments there only to be told they are so busy I MUST pay for an ER appointment, only for me to get there and see one other client there the two hours I was on site. The final straw was my last appointment where I saw the on call vet who was rude, demeaning and tried to push me to buy things my dog didn’t need, like very expensive ‘samples’ of food that was 30 dollars for a two week supply. After talking down to me all appointment, the vet pulls me into the back to look at my dogs x ray and asks ME if I know what’s going on with it- I don’t work in medicine and I have no vet/ vet tech training and this vet knew that. It as very bizarre and I left there very confused and frustrated. My dog is on expensive supplements, the recommended medication and goes to PT every week and this clinic acted as if I wasn’t nearly doing enough for my dog. Despite her physical therapist saying she’s doing great on her current treatment plan and now her new vet is also in agreement this is the best plan for her. My dog is 15 and this clinic has been pushing me to do a invasive that has a long recovery time without even being willing to me about an alternative plan recommended by her physical therapist. I moved my dog to a new vet who is kind, communicates, respects that the best thing for my dog is not surgery at this time of her life (again she’s 15) and costs half the price this vet does. My dog is doing great now and is very happy and it’s no thanks to this clinic- they truly made me feel bad for advocating for what’s best for my dog and going with my gut."
"My dog was endangered for his life and was refused service even though he was a patient. They would recommend no other vets in the area. I found a vet on my own down the street that took immediate care of my pet. He died not four hours later. Evergreen Animal Hospital had no compassion nor would give help in time of extreme need."
"We initially visited this vet because my dog had broken his toenail on 4th of July and this was one of the only vets open that day. I was there for over 6 hours while the young male vet attempted to sedate him to investigate his toenail while I waited in the lobby. Eventually, Hank had enough sedatives in him for a dog 3x his size and the vet said he finally was allowing him to look at his toenails. *I told the vet that Hank is a pretty chill and docile dude UNLESS it has something to do with his toenails. They wrapped his toenail up and gave him some pills to help with pain and after a $600 bill, we were on our way. Fast forward to last week (Monday) when I called to schedule a vet checkup for 10a Friday and was directed to their automated system. I was slightly annoyed but figured “this is how it’s supposed to work, I guess”. So my husband and I are getting ready to leave to take Hank to the vet and at 10:04a Friday I get a call from EAH stating that my dog was aggressive and they would like him to be sedated or muzzled when he comes into the hospital. I explained to them that the last time he was there was for a toenail issue and that he is completely fine with other procedures- she then told me that he also had some reactions when he had his temperature taken rectally- I was a vet tech for 3 years and I’ve had Hank for 12 years and we rarely muzzled/sedated dogs unless they were aggressive. I asked why she was just calling me 30 minutes before the visit to inform me of this and she said it was because the automated system that I used to schedule the appointment. She also asked that I retrieve Hank’s most recent veterinary records, which I told her I would’ve been able to do with more than 30 minutes notice but since I was unaware that I needed these documents, I would not be able to get them to her before his visit in the next 30 minutes. I ended by telling her I would likely seek out a different veterinarian as Hank is not an aggressive dog and that muzzling him would be contraindicated since he was being seen for a lump on his cheek (I also don’t own a muzzle). This place really doesn’t have it together and it’s extremely overpriced. I can’t wait to find another vet that is more compassionate and understanding of a 12 1/2 year-old dog. Also, just to show how docile Hank is, I have attached a couple pictures of him."
"TL; DR: Evergreen Animal Hospital’s negligence caused my completely healthy dog to develop a non-healing eye ulcer that took 2 extra months and $1500 extra to heal . They tried to trick us into signing a legally binding, non-disclosure form disguised as a “refund” for $350. I advise anyone considering their services to look elsewhere: the fancy lobby is not worth your pets’ health. My dog had a skin tag on his eyelid that (ironically) we thought might be irritating him, and Evergreen Animal Hospital did a v-plasty to remove it. We were told the procedure went well. Staff walked us through his medications, including an eye gel to apply on his eyelid “as needed.” I noticed that the receptionist desk had a “$5 off coupon for a 5-star review!” which seemed tacky, but whatever. At home, we noticed they forgot to file his nails (it happens), and the after-care notes said nothing about the eye gel. They warned us that they missed the first IV so both his legs were bandaged, but they put cotton swabs against the wounds, which any medical professional should know not to do as it can irritate and fuse with the wound, and it did. The eyelid was supposed to heal in 2 weeks, but after 1 we noticed that his eye seemed very irritated. His sclera was a deep, bloody red. His mood was altered. We called Evergreen Animal Hospital and brought him in. The staff chastised us for not correctly applying the eye medication for which they didn’t give instructions. Other than that, they insisted he was fine. 3 days later, we took him to an emergency center. The ER vet found that the stitches on his eyelid were scratching into his eye and had abraded 2 layers of his cornea. We got a stronger pain medication for the ulcer as they are very painful. At first, we were impressed by Evergreen Animal Hospital’s response. The vet who did the procedure called and apologized, and the manager agreed to give us complimentary after-care for our dog’s eye and offered a refund for the v-plasty (~$350). We appreciated this gesture, but were shocked when we were later emailed a confidential, non-disclosure form that would grant us the ‘refund’ at the cost of permanently barring us from making any statements, online or otherwise, on what happened. While Evergreen Animal Hospital gave us two complimentary visits, the ulcer, though smaller, had not fully healed by the second complimentary visit. To this day, Evergreen Animal Hospital not followed back up. We got a sense that they were far more concerned with covering themselves optically than the actual care of our dog: both times we visited, the manager came to speak to us and asked us if we had signed the “refund.” When we told her it was not a refund, but instead a non-disclosure form that our lawyers advised us not to sign—at the very least not until our dog was fully healed—she apologized but said that’s just the way “corporate” handled things, and asked us to email their CFO to talk more about it. We did not. Separately, we ended up seeing another vet, who tried to treat it with more aggressive eye medications, along with a different sized E-collar because it turns out Evergreen Animal Hospital gave him a size too short. After a couple more weeks, our dog developed stomach issues from the slew of meds he had been on the past 6 weeks, and the ulcer’s healing had stagnated. We ended up having to take the dog to an ophthalmologist, where they had to carve a grid into his eye with a diamond burr to stimulate growth, and he was in the e-collar for another 4 weeks. I can happily say that his eye is now fully healed, though stomach issues persist. Evergreen Animal Hospital’s negligence cost our family a significant of extra money ($1500) and more importantly, two months of our dog being in unnecessary pain. While we know sometimes things happen too many things went wrong at Evergreen Animal Hospital. This is not a local veterinary clinic who cares about the community, but a corporate-run business who sees you and your family as a cash-grab and nothing else."
