About the Business

Louisville Family Animal Hospital, located at 332 McCaslin Boulevard in Louisville, Colorado, is a comprehensive veterinary care facility that welcomes animals of all varieties, from common household pets to exotics. Since 1997, our philosophy of "Caring for Your Pets from Birth Through Life" has guided our approach to meeting the needs of our patients and their families.
In addition to providing routine health care services, our hospital also houses a pharmacy and store for all of your pet care needs. We understand that medical treatment can be costly, which is why we have established an ongoing assistance fund to help support patients whose owners may be financially unable to provide necessary care. Our team of veterinarians, technicians, and support staff collaborates to identify deserving cases for support.
Thanks to the generosity of our clients, staff, and friends, we have been able to provide pets with essential medical treatments such as periodontal care, dental extractions, specialty procedures, and emergency surgeries. This support gives these animals the chance for a healthy and happy life with their families.
At Louisville Family Animal Hospital, we are committed to offering the highest quality care to our patients and their families. We value your feedback and input, as it helps us to continually improve and enhance the services we provide. "I had an incredibly scary day today, as my kitty had a rare and severe reaction to a urine collection procedure. But the team at Louisville Family Animal Hospital was absolutely amazing and Dr. Alicia Niedzwiedzki saved my cat’s life. They were so wonderful to me today and I couldn’t have asked for a better place for a traumatic event like this to have occurred. They kept me updated throughout the process, were caring and kind, and it’s obvious they have a love for animals and a high standard of care. I’m so so grateful for the team, and can’t express my gratitude enough. Thank you for saving Charles life!!!!"
"The whole office is full of kind, caring and honest people who you can tell have a lot of love for their clients and their animals. They're very welcomkng towards my golden retriever mix Wyatt and do their best to make him feel comfortable during his visits. With other vets, i sometimes feel like I'm being given an upsell, but LFAH is straightforward on what treatment my dog might need and doesn't try to pressure you into certain tests or procedures or make you feel guilty about your pet's health issues. On at least one instance, they saved us thousands of dollars, and my dog a few days of discomfort, by cancelling a scheduled procedure when they found it was no longer needed. That kind of honesty and compassion is rare these days, and we feel very fortunate to have it at our local vet!"
"This place is not a stable, functioning place to take your pet. In August I had to return compounded zonicimide that they made because it was a completely different concentration. They said it had been a different dosage all together. My dog is only 7pnds and needs this to prevent seizures but in the right dosage. A vet I had never seen said he was just filling in and had it remade suggesting I find another place to fill the prescription. The front desk said that a bunch of vets had left and they were looking for a new director. I was concerned but didn’t look for another vet. For a few months I’ve been getting zonicimide from chewy. Ordered it to be here by now with a few days left in the bottle and got a message that Louisville Animal Hospital declined my prescription! When I called they said my dog has to come in before they can give me the refill. In the meantime is my dog supposed to just have seizures!? So I was obviously upset and angry and they agreed to give me just enough medication to get him by until an appointment I had to schedule with them before they would do it. They said they sent messages but it was to a different email. I had usually been dealing with them but they were in too much disarray to connect my phone number with my dog. And of course no mention of needing an appointment when they saw me in August because they were too chaotic and barely could get my meds. Terrifying to think they would hold my dog hostage in this way. Then they left a message saying I was inappropriate and not to take my dog there. As if I would. But obviously no concern over my dog in any way. Just find another vet. I certainly am."
"Cliff and staff stayed late on a Friday to get us signed up as a new client, and when they found out what was wrong with our rabbit, they were willing and able to squeeze us in for an appointment the next day; our regular vet wouldn’t see us for 2 weeks without an urgent care appointment. The staff was so warm and welcoming, and Dr. Ashley was very caring, patient, and thorough in her care for our bunny. Could not be happier with the care and service we received from the entire staff and have moved our entire family of pets over to LFAH, with enthusiasm."
"My first ever experience going to the vet with my new puppy was made incredibly easy by LFAH. I called one morning asking if they had availability to see Smoky (my husky pup) and despite being booked out several weeks, Dr. Ashley made time to see Smoky and assess some issues he was having. Everyone, from the front desk to vet techs to Dr. Ashley herself were very friendly, helpful and informative even with the difficult operating procedures due to COVID-19. Post-appointment Dr. Ashley followed up with detailed information and continued communication via email, answering all my new pup questions. So grateful to Dr. Ashley and the staff at LFAH."
