"Doctor saved my daughter from a frightening possibly procedure recommended by another dentist , when she broke her implnated tooth. He spent the time to research and contact old dentists in another city to get complete information before conducting his restoration. The billing was complicated and his team worked diligently to get the best possible financial outcome."

"I do not recommend this practice. They got so many things wrong on the billing / accounting side. This included not submitting claims to my insurance with the correct details (incorrect spelling on name etc). This caused a lot of back and forth about unpaid bills that should have been covered under my dental plan. Fast forward, after disputing claims with debt collector I decided to just pay the amounts and close this chapter. I'm sure people visiting the office were encouraged to submit a review in exchange for a credit for "Fluoride treatment". I fell for this... submitted a review... still got charged for the Fluoride. They said they'd take it off when I brought it to their attention, but in the end it made its way to collections too. I always felt that they wanted to upsell you on treatments. maybe this was just my experience. On the dental side, I do not really have a bad comment, the Dr is capable and good, but I guess I do not appreciate the pressure sell and mismanagement of my account stuff."

"Do not go to this office! The billing department does not know how to give an accurate estimate for treatment. The doctor makes promises he doesn't keep. The dental assistant wears her hair down so it touches your face and the hygienist is never the same. Save yourself a headache and go else where."

"I rec'd first billing statement six months after services were provided showing I owed $750 & my account was delinquent. At the time of service (5/2021), the office staff contacted my ins regarding proposed services and provided me with an estimate of my out of pocket expense of $1391.75 . I paid this amount in full in May 2021. When I contacted the office on 12/1/2021, the recently hired staff member, Jerilyn, stated it was ultimately my responsibility to know my benefits & my financial obligations. I don't dispute this, but would've expected the estimate to reflect some degree of accuracy. Or, the office staff should've provided me with the billing codes so I could contact my ins co directly. Also, Jerilyn could not explain what info was provided to my ins co in May 2021 to receive the original $1300 figure for my out of pocket expense or why my ins only covered 5% of the total bill. My dental insurance had no record of a "treatment plan" being sent to them in May 2021. Generally, a dental office submits a treatment plan to the ins co in order to determine a patient's out of pocket expense. Most dental office's provide an estimate that is generally within 10-15% of the actual out of pocket expense. This was obviously not the case with Dr. Sweeny's office. I have no qualms about paying for services rendered, but blindsiding me with an outstanding/unknown/delinquent balance six months after the fact is very poor customer service and reflects poorly on Dr. Sweeny. And, the newly hired staff needs a lesson in customer service. Jerilyn offered no explanation other than "it is ultimately my responsibility." Needless to say, I will not be returning to Dr. Sweeny's practice."
