"My biggest concern was the chicken sandwich I ordered. I have no idea how to describe the texture and taste of the chicken without saying it wasn't chicken I was eating. It was the most odd food experience I ever encountered. I shared with my boyfriend and didn't mention the inedible feeling of the chicken to him because I felt I was crazy, it was that absurd. He noticed me shaking trying another bite and teased me until he tried It and realized my apprehension was valid. I really wanted to like it but It was like they ran out of chicken so they fried white rubber to pull it off. I don't think the waitress or manager believed me that it was inedible but they comped the sandwich and offered me a new meal after everyone was done eating. I ordered the lobster roll and from my own restaurant experience, expected it to be compensated too due to not being helped until after the rest of my party was done eating. This was not the case. Also was not good lobster, took a few bites and threw it away but at least the lobster was edible. The chicken was just so absurd though I still think about what in the world was wrong with that chicken."

"In the heart of Denver, where the city’s pulse beats with a rhythm that melds the old with the new, The Kitchen American Bistro stands as a testament to the beauty of simplicity and the power of American cuisine done right. This is not just a restaurant; it’s a sanctuary where the essence of communal dining is celebrated, a place that Pete Wells might describe with a blend of admiration and eloquence, noting its unpretentious elegance and the magnetic warmth that draws patrons into its embrace. Upon entering The Kitchen American Bistro, guests are greeted with an ambiance that balances rustic charm with a sleek, contemporary edge. The space feels both expansive and intimate, with tables set just so, encouraging conversation and the sharing of meals. The lighting, soft and inviting, casts a glow that makes everything seem to shimmer, setting the stage for a dining experience that promises to be unforgettable. The menu is a reflection of the land, a tribute to the farmers and artisans who provide the ingredients that are the backbone of every dish served. Here, the philosophy is simple: let the ingredients shine. And shine they do, in plates that are thoughtfully composed and executed with a precision that speaks of a deep respect for the culinary arts. A highlight is the Colorado lamb shank, braised to perfection and falling off the bone, served atop a bed of creamy polenta that’s as comforting as it is luxurious. The dish is a symphony of flavors and textures, a celebration of local produce and the culinary heritage of the region. Another must-try is the seared trout, sourced from the crystal-clear waters of the Rocky Mountains, accompanied by a delicate lemon butter sauce that enhances without overpowering. But what truly sets The Kitchen American Bistro apart is its commitment to sustainability and community. This is a place where the ethos of “food is love” is palpable, where each meal served is a reminder of the restaurant’s dedication to not just feeding people, but nourishing souls. As the meal draws to a close, with a final sip of a perfectly paired wine and the lingering sweetness of a homemade apple pie, it’s clear that The Kitchen American Bistro is more than a restaurant. It’s a cornerstone of Denver’s dining scene, a place where the simple act of eating becomes an act of joy. In its embrace of both the local and the seasonal, it stands as a beacon of what American cuisine can be—rooted in tradition, yet always evolving, always inviting, always home."

"We enjoyed this restaurant so much we went back the next night to try additional dinner items. Cocktails were excellent, lots of GF options. Service was great. We had Beckett. He was sociable and knew the menu. All the servers did. Loved the macaroon dessert!"

"Experience was great as usual. Music was lively not too loud, pretty full and crowd seem to be enjoying themselves. What made it perfect was the service I received from Asena and Ariana. Attentive, pleasant and made superb cocktails and mocktails. I’ll definitely be back soon. Thanks to all that make it a special place in Boulder"
